We bought this because my husband is legally blind and needs the big numbers. It was easy to set up, not too many bells and whistles, but has just the right amount of easy to use attributes, including good volume if needed, great speaker phone and simple answering machine.
I'm 74 years old and a vietnam-era vet with a hearing problem. This phone's audio enhancements really works. You will truly appreciate this phone with its audio capabilities sounds. The headset is cordless and has large readable numbers on it. The phone I have now is my second one over the years. " best buy"
I bought this phone because it has a boost on it that enables me to hear much better than my old landline. Cell phones are nice but there's nothing better than the peace of mind that you can communicate with the outside world when power and cell service is out. I also like the answering machine. It's clear and easy to understand.
I purchased this for my 90 yr. old mom. Phone works very well lot's of features. Set up is a little much for a older person, just do it for them. Ringer is loud with the flashing red light makes it easier to identify and answer the incoming call. Comes with a built in answering machine,
Capabilities suite includes just what I needed. When I got the extension handset, i was surprised and pleased to see that there's more than extension capabilities with the new unit - an intercom capability between the original desk set and the new extension and at a very reasonable price. The ONLY handicap is the lack of a way to transfer all the old phone numbers from the old, damaged desk set that to this new one - even though they are the same model of the same brand. Oh, and there is some audio distortion when the volume/gain is too high. Just as expected. Unlike smart phones, I know of no way to block nuisance telemarketers using these appliances..
My stepdad really likes it- he can hear us all more clearly on our callls.
I like the volume control and boost feature. But these phones don't last. this is the third one I've purchased in 3 years. The last one had static after only 6 months. It has a 1 year warranty, but when I contacted the manufacture, distributor, and Walmart, no one took responsibility. I only bought this one because I already have 3 hand sets that work with the base.
The phone has large buttons and the volume is good with the boost for my Husband who doesn't always wear his hearing aids. BUT the set up is confusing. Maybe if I was 20 years younger it would make sense. I got time and date set and English as our language but for the life of me can not figure out how to add names and numbers into phone book. Also how to delete message. May need to get a young person to stop by and help us on this one.
So far so good. Only a few days of use.
I bought this for my 90 year old mother. Thought the hearing assistance features would help but she can't figure out how to use it. I will be returning it. Nothing wrong with the phone itself other than its more complicated than just pick up and talk.
