Works well on my roses. Those pesky deer eat all the buds if this spray isn't used. They hate the smell.
Item arrived quickly, it is effective but requires a good re-appication after a heavy rain. The effectiveness does wear off after a few weeks as well.
Wow animal control supervisor told me get deer deterrent cause people that own trailer park near my property have been putting corn on their border daily to get the deer jumping/breaking my fence and setting off my alarms so I watched and it was deer rats Fox and squirrels so I got this since it’s water proof and great reviews and it came yesterday and as tempted as I was to doubly strength I didn’t I did just what it said and omg sprayed the fence 5’ past and my driveway the entire thing (I have 3.5 acres) and Wow last night it was so quiet so I pulled my trail cam chip and boom 1 deer but it was in their property not mine at all and no other pests either yay! Now they can continue to wast their money I just won and it says use each season and I plan to buy more so I can spray the entire property boundary so they don’t come in at all cause summer I have beautiful grass until they come grazing, I live my country life but don’t want my fence broke it gets expensive to repair.
I use it on flowers, shrubs and vegetables. I spray it on right after planting and then every 10 days or so or after it rains. I figured the new growth needs to be sprayed. It works great for me. At my home in Montana, the deer are everywhere.
I'am a master gardener with 4 acres and a bunch of roaming deer- this stuff is wonderful!!- and it smells decent- not obnoxious like many other deterents . I highly recommend- gardening is expensive… don't lose your investment to deer and other animals
totally love Deer Out. It really does keep deer off my plants. I've been using it for years every ~6 weeks, or maybe every ~4 weeks in the spring when things grow quickly. I use a 32 oz spray bottle to apply (dilute 3 oz of concentrate in water up to 32 oz total).
This has seemed to keep the deer discouraged from munching on the flowers. The solution has a very pleasant peppermint scent. It is easier to mix up a gallon of the product rather than a fraction of a gallon. With the pump sprayer, I applied the solution to the bottom, as well as the top of the plants for more discouragement and less likelihood of washing off.
This is not a new item to me. I've been using Deer Out for the past several years, because (1) it's effective, and (2) it doesn't stink like all of the other deer repellant products I've tried. However, I would say that you need to use it weekly, even though it's supposed to last 90 days on plants and not wash off. Common sense suggests that new growth is not protected, and the deer know which parts to munch.
We tried making several different concoctions to keep the deer from eating our flowers and garden plants but none of them seemed to work. We finally tried Deer Out. It seems to work fine for two or three days. It is probably due to the current drought, but the deer seem to eat just about anything green, even after a few days sprayed Deer Out. But, it's still the best product we have found so far.
I did one application and have had no further deer damage for two weeks. It appears to be working fine. I used a plant mister and applied a light coat on plants and shrubs that deer like to nibble. It doesn't have an offensive odor for humans but deer seem to be repulsed.
