I make 6 pieces out of every stick, as I use a little kindling to start our fires each day in our wood burning stove. These work great...can't go wrong buying them.
I'm always trying different ways to start A successful fire for camp fires or just an evening bonfire. When the tinder is a little damp its hard to or impossible to start A fire without a little help. These Diamond Strike-A-Fire sticks illuminates that problem. These sticks burn for 12 min (may need to push off some ash) which dries out the tinder. The box has a striker strip to strike you fire stick. I usually carry some sandpaper in a ziplock bag or plastic bottle in the event the sticker gets wet. Even though I love ways to start fires, these Strike-A-Fire are awesome. I have shared a few with my camping friends who at times could not get a fire started due to the dampness.
easy peasy lemon squeezy
These are handy for getting fires going in the wood stove. I use fatwood too and one or two of these to get my split logs going. After trying to strike them on the box and having mixed results I just light a wooden match and touch it to the Strike-A-Fire to save the futzing around. I'll hold them above the wood for 20 or 30 seconds to make sure they're really going so they don't snuff out when I lay them in the stove. These are a staple for me and I go through a couple of boxes every winter up in Maine.
We depend on our wood stove fires to heat our home. These Diamond Strike A Fire by far are the best starters we've ever used. Light it, place under a bit of kindling and you're done! A must have if you don't want to mess around trying to light your fireplace or woodstove!
I've used several fire starters for my fireplace and these are my favorite. They will sit across log grates without falling through. Probably burn for 15 minutes but I've never really checked. The striker feature is kinda cool but I light both ends with a long lighter.
I have been using these to light my fires in my fireplace for years now. I usually use 2 to 3 at a time. I have done just one when I get low and it works. I layer my kindling on top of these and then put a large log at the top. I light them up and they burn hot and creates an amazing fire. I love these things.
The items inside the box were not up to standards. The red part in which ignites the stick is broken and some are missing in general. Box was opened after pickup
I bought these for several years before Diamond bought them. They were excellent before the new company but now are useless. They don't light on the strike strip on the box. The strike tip comes off when trying to light it. The only way to light it is to light it with a lighter. I'll never buy again.
The red striking part was missing from most of the sticks.
