Perfect as a gift for kids of various ages. They loved that all of the dinosaurs were different! So fun! Used for Easter baskets but might repeat for party favors or stockings. What kid doesn't want to pretend to be a paleontologist?

I really like this product. I got them to hide and let my grandson find them around the yard and he really enjoyed it and thought he was finding real dinosaur eggs lol. The packaging and information was great. My only fault with the product is that some of the dinosaurs arent centered very good inside of the eggs and were poking out before we even started digging into them. Really fun to play with though!

Product was great, my sons enjoyed this activity. It was messy but nothing hard to clean. Id reccomend this for outdoor activity or tile floor. They loved finding the dinosaurs. We put the eggs in their sandbox to find and some in the grass to make it more fun which they also enjoyed. We also used the chunks for chalk for the sidewalk/driveway. It was very easy to clean off also. Nothing went to waist. I recommend and I'd purchase this again in the future as well as gifts for Christmas or birthdays.

My five year old daughter chose to spend the birthday money she got from her cousin on these. She was not disappointed. The eggs are just difficult enough to dig open so that it's challenging but not too frustrating. She really liked discovering the different types of dinos, and there are 12 different ones in the box.Warning: this is super messy. It cleans up well but if you don't put down a drop cloth or something everything is going to end up covered in dino egg.

Great product! My little sisters (ages 7 and 4.5) both had a blast digging for the dinos. Each dino took about 10 minutes to dig out (the right balance between not super easy and not frustrating), and then we spent another 5-10 minutes cleaning and learning about the dino via the cards provided.The only drawback is that it's a bit messy, so doing it outside or with a lot of newspaper and clothes that get sandy is key!

We buy these every few weeks because they entertain my kids and their friends for hours! Well at least one hour if tthere are a lot of kids. My 7 yo girl loves them and even my 10yo boy takes a break from video games to join. They make a tad of a mess but we do it outside and just hose it off. They love the surprise aspect and it takes a while to dig to the prize so the time it takes great entertainment for days at home. I could see these being good at parties too.

Great gift and product. Honestly I ordered twice because I also enjoyed digging th e egg open. Heavy egg , twice the size of a regular egg. I got this for my 4 yr daughter. She loves dinosaurs and got so excited once we could see th e dino and get if out. I had something simular yrs ago with my son therefore I knew the deal. It is messy powder so I always put paper under an paper plate. It does take time and some patient's IF your going to use the tools included which are sturdy and work but take time and can cause blisters if you continue to open many eggs ( my mistake) so now i cheat and use a butter knife. Works much better, easier, faster and cleaner. not for the kids though. She is four so doing it herself would take a whole day ( also what i like, 12 eggs so shes busy for days) after a couple eggs they want you to do it anyway lol. This is really a awesome, creative, educational product.

We ordered this for our grandsons, ages 8 and 4. The product arrived overnight in perfect condition. We hid the dozen eggs for an Eggscavator scavenger hunt - named by our older grandson, although he wasn't totally sure what this was about. Each boy found 6 eggs and the chipping away, dunking (in water) or even slamming on the driveway was just so much fun to release the dinosaurs. Matched by finding the fossil patterns in the clay-like eggs. So we have 12 dinosaurs and many egg parts that are drying out - fossils. We'll check out the cool cards later. Boys + dirt & water + dinosaurs + scavenger hunt + Easter ish ("eggs") + bonus fossils = mission accomplished. Messy, but didn't need to be. This would work totally fine in a classroom or indoor table setting, just not my calling. The clay eggs were well-formed, didn't just fall apart. Young archeologists will appreciate the quality. These are a massive mess and the clay stains! It is a an orange color & even though we were wearing outside clothes that we know will get dirty, it is important to note that the clay did not come out. Additionally, these are numbered and have cute dinosaur cards that go with them. However, there is no key to tell you what card goes with which... number which would be helpful in case you want to use these as party favors, like we did. Cool idea. Poor, messier than necessary execution. P.S. a plastic tube of dinosaurs bought on the cheap are better quality than what comes in these overpriced eggs...

My kids started chipping away at these and got bored, apparently. I walked away for a 10-15 minutes and found them soaking the eggs in water to make them dissolve more quickly. That turned into mud and subsequently a huge mess! It didn't stain or anything, but was a pain to clean up. Also the dinos inside are pretty low quality and not very exciting. Would recommend a pass on this one. Great concept, poor execution.
