Downton Abbey: The Complete Collection (DVD)

This series was advertised on PBS for over a $100.00 . Now I like to support a lot of things but I also like to SAVE MONEY. I'll be able to watch this on "my time" when I want too. It's a great series.

Hypnotic and captivating. This fascinating story is so well written and excecuted that by the time we got to the last DVD I felt all the characters were known to me personally. we were so sad to come to the end. Oh well. time to binge watch the new season of Ozark or Narcos Mexico.

After watching the every original broadcast on TV and then again from my local library collection and now after purchasing this British version and viewing it up to Edith's wedding episode I believe there is a missing scene or more from both the American DVD collection and the British "unedited collection" i have purchased. I distinctly remember a scene in which, prior to the wedding, Sir Anthony passes by, I think, Lady Rosamund who is mentioning to another person that a certain Duchess is once again single. It is brought out that this person was an old flame of Sir Anthony and thus is the seed planted for Sir Anthony to rethink his pending marriage to Edith. Please someone correct me if I am delusional.

I love historical fiction and bought this series to watch with my daughters. However, it is NOT a family appropriate series. The first episode contains an intimate gay kissing scene, which may not be an issue for some, but for a Bible believing household, it is not. We immediately stopped watching it, and it was returned. After researching, I did discover the homosexual plotline does carry through the series as the writers work in the historical struggles of the gay community at that time. Again, if one is okay with it, the acting is good and plot well written (based on scenes seen on Youtube as well as what was watched), but it is not for Christian family viewing.

Looked like it had been used and beat up. Not anything I would keep for the price so I returned it
