More than I had expected...

Dominic D January 22, 2025

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is quite a handy product that I was pleasantly surprised with all the contents within and it's usefulness towards its intended purposes and audience. The possibilities of different cuts that it helps with range from crosscuts, bevels and mitres, smaller rip cuts, as well as to my surprise compound cuts too. The whole system offers several ways to make all these cuts in a safe and very repetitive way. The saw that it comes with was a very nice surprise as well. I have other Dremel rotary tools and such, and sawing in the past wasn't the easiest- until I have this one a run thru some paces on projects I was working on, and the power and precision was better than expected. Im defenitly a fan of this one and will be using it to help me with projects going forward. Id say that for the beginner, this tool is indispensable for helping safely make whatever cuts needed- repetitively and with much easier precision. Look forward to see what else they come up with this system as far as expansion goes, because I really like this one a lot and found myself really impressed with it.

Track system on Dremel Blueprint is a game changer

Chad McCollum January 11, 2025

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I broke out the Dremel Blueprint to make a shadow box and found the system to be intuitive, super simple, sturdy, and compact. Fantastic track system which guides the saw safely and accurately. Love it!

Dremel Blueprint Cutting System

Steve February 10, 2025

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Dremel Blueprint tool is ready to use, requires little time to set up. Working on projects away from home, it’s great to have a system that is light weight, portable and ready to go at a moment’s notice. This system is safe, protecting you from injuring your hand/finger. The noise that is created by the saw is very low, but I still recommend using the proper PPE for hearing. Using the Laser feature helped make very accurate cuts. It also helped when making miter, straight, beveled and rip cuts. The actual cuts were straight, but wished that the cuts were a little cleaner. This could be accomplished with a different blade. I liked using the beveled risers, which were helpful when making cuts on thinner materials. The clamps are great to hold wood in place when making cuts. I also like the small support to hold longer materials when cutting them. Battery Life – the battery life good/similar the other cordless Dremel tools that I currently own. Notation Board – nice to have an area to make quick measurements/references to be able to look back upon when working on a project. The 2x4 cutting guide was great for making beveled cuts.

The Saw That Built My Wife's Honey-Do Dreams

Christopher January 11, 2025

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So, Dremel sent me their portable table saw in exchange for a review, and let me tell you—this wasn’t just a win for me. It was a win for my wife and her ever-growing honey-do list. At first, I was thrilled. A free tool? Sign me up! But the moment my wife saw it, her eyes lit up like a kid at Christmas. Within minutes, she was rattling off projects: birdhouses, floating shelves, and—why not?—a tiny custom coffee station. The saw itself is fantastic. Compact, precise, and powerful enough to tackle small to medium projects without breaking a sweat. I cut through wood and other materials so smoothly, I even impressed myself. And let’s just say my wife is now convinced I’m capable of renovating the entire house. Pros: Portable and easy to use, even in small spaces. Makes precise cuts like a pro (and lets you look like one too). Lightweight enough to move around but sturdy enough to feel legit—no wobbling or sketchy vibes mid-cut. Easy to storage like in your closet. Cons: Its size means it’s better for smaller projects—don’t expect it to handle big lumber or full renovation jobs. The ease of use makes it too tempting for my wife to add just one more project to the list. Doesn’t come with a "pause your spouse's expectations" button. Bottom line: While it’s perfect for precision work and small to mid-size DIY projects, beware—it might turn you into your household’s go-to handyman whether you’re ready or not.

Lightweight workhorse

TomB January 28, 2025

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This saw station is great, I wish I had one when I was doing finish carpentry. I started out cutting miter joints for some picture frames, all the joints were tight and the laser sight made it very accurate. I tested battery life. I cut over 200 times in red oak before the battery started to run down for some bent wood After a recharge, I used it to trim some 2x4s with the 2x4 guide. It was easy to set up and did what it was supposed to do. The saw station is light weight but very stable, easy to set up easy to pack up and go. It comes with a material support some clamps and a riser. The saw itself is light weight, comfortable to hold and very stable in the cutting track. The edge guide installs very easy and works like a champ although I would have liked a little bit deeper guide maybe 1/4". I can set this up and be in production for trim work in minutes as opposed to a full-sized miter stand and chop saw. The guide never moved out of square when cross cutting or mitering any stock. Overall, a real workhorse.

Home run!

GSGaw January 7, 2025

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This compact saw/miter table has quickly become my go-to tool in my workshop. It allows me to easily create accurate miter joints, cross-cuts, and rabbit/dado slots. With it, I’ve effortlessly crafted a picture frame, a wooden box, and precisely cut wood floor planks. The included jig also makes cutting 2x4 lumber a breeze. Plus, the table doubles as a storage case, which is especially convenient for those with limited shop space like mine. I highly recommend this tool for DIY homeowners and hobbyists. I can't wait to use it on my next model airplane project!

Glad it’s still a Dremel

TouchOfGray March 22, 2025

Although this saw sled is marketed for Life-sized home improvement projects, it also fills a void that existed in Dremel’s craft-sized woodworking accessories (drill press, motosaw, router base, etc.). Now that I’m older, I find myself doing projects that use thinner materials than what construction projects call for. My 12 inch blade miter saw is too cumbersome and noisy for <1x boards, dowels, and moulding. Whereas a store bought miter box and handsaw is not precise and is also slooooow. This miniature saw and saw sled is the obvious solution. 3-4 inch saws are not new. Indeed, Dremel has offered them for some time for freehand cuts. The saw sled, however, transforms it into something akin to a precision shop tool. To me, it resembles a radial arm saw, which leads me to an important consideration when using it… This is not my first review of Dremel’s saw station. My initial experience was not trouble-free. I experienced a number of kickbacks while sawing, due to years of muscle memory from using other power saws. Once I realized my mistake, using the Dremel has been problem free. Let me explain. The blades on rotary saws spin either clockwise or counter-clockwise depending on what direction the saw is designed to engage the material. The blade’s rotation presses the material against a surface, whether it be the table of a table saw, a fence on a miter saw, or the shoe plate of a handheld circular saw. The Dremel saw is the latter. When its blade spins, it enters the material from underneath and cuts upward. This causes the material to be lifted by the saw. The material presses against the saws’s shoe plate, and the weight of the saw prevents the material from going higher. This dynamic changes when you use the saw on an elevated sled. The material no longer has the weight of the saw on it. Therefore, the wood can lift off the saw station’s table. Dremel solved this: material clamps. You MUST clamp your material down securely if you want to avoid potential kickback. Holding the material with your free hand is not sufficient. The saw station’s surface is somewhat slippery, especially as it accumulates sawdust . The slightest slippage of your material can cause the lightweight saw and its thin blade to bind. It’s the reason Dremel includes clamps and T-tracks in the design. Use them. Because clamping is essential, I substituted some quick-release cam clamps to make setting up somewhat faster. They are pictured in my included photo. Perhaps Dremel with offer them someday as an upgrade as this product evolves. Otherwise, the stock clamps suffice. One last detail… I have only cut boards thus far. I have not tried cutting other materials like plywood, MDF, or polycarbonate. The 20-teeth blades that are compatible with this saw aren’t what is typically recommended for those materials. I considered trying blades from other saw brands until Dremel expands the blade selection for this new product. If you do the same, be certain the blade is rated for this saw’s RPM. This concludes my review. Over all, I’m grateful that Dremel created this convenient, appropriate sawing solution for the lighter materials I’m using these days. Used safely, it deserves five stars as is, but I’m withholding one star to encourage Dremel to emphasize the importance of clamping in its instructions, and expand its blade offerings.

Compact, Versatile, and Smooth Cutting Performance

BRob66 January 23, 2025

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Dremel Blueprint Portable Saw Station CS12V-S1C is a fantastic tool that combines portability, functionality, and precision in one sleek package. The compact 12-volt saw is incredibly smooth, delivering clean cuts with minimal effort. The laser line is impressively bright, making it easy to align cuts accurately, even in lower-light conditions. One of the standout features is the case that converts into a workstation. It’s equipped with clamps and a miter gauge, which makes it highly versatile for different cutting tasks. The added writing space on the worktop is a thoughtful touch, providing a convenient spot for notes, measurements, or marking cuts. The easy setup is another huge plus, saving time and getting you to work quickly. While the saw station has many positives, there are a few areas for improvement. The miter gauge, while functional, can be a bit hard to read and challenging to square up precisely. Additionally, the clamps would benefit if they swiveled feature to better secure material at different points. Lastly, the design seems to lead to some material waste when making cuts, especially miter cuts, which is something to be mindful of during projects. Overall, the Dremel Blueprint Portable Saw Station is an excellent choice for anyone in need of a compact and versatile cutting station. Its smooth performance, bright laser alignment, and multifunctional design make it a valuable tool for both DIY enthusiasts and professionals, despite the minor drawbacks.

Complete Package

Kazz January 6, 2025

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I welcomed the CS12V and portable saw station into my small workshop. The self-contained table and tool storage were able to be stored under the work bench. The CS12V saw uses the same 12 volt battery as my Dremel 8240. It will be good to keep a second battery charged, if needed, to complete a project. I chose to make the framing to surround a beehive inspired stain glass panel. The angles were not the traditional 90 and 45 degrees. The 60-degree corner angle required the saw’s miter guide to be set at 30 degrees. The saw included the CS600 multi-material blade, so I hoped to be able to cut both the zinc glass frame and the surrounding wooden poplar frame. The saw was not able to cut the zinc without jamming and bending the metal. I manually cut the zinc pieces. There may be another blade available for the zinc framing. However, the cut through the ¾ x 1 ½ wood was no problem. When I cut the excess wood off to form the opposite corner, the 1 ½ triangle would not always clear and would jam. Through each cut of the ¾ inch thick wood the lower guard would jam and had to be manually raised to complete the cut. The rail guides had space to allow easy movement which also allowed the blade bevel angle and miter angle to vary slightly I admit I had high expectations for the saw station that it did not meet. Being in the Blueprint line-up, I thought the cuts would be precise. But I think knowing its limitations and what not to do is a lesion. With repetitive use I will be able to find uses for it in my projects.
