This thing works like a charm. I've already smoked a turkey breast and a salmon filet, and they were delish. Next, two chickens for our Sunday supper. I haven't used the temperature probe yet, maybe never will. I go by sight. It is well insulated because I've had no problems using it when the outside temp was in the thirties and forties. Can't do that with a horizontal BBQ.

We have had several smokers over the years and I like this one the best so far. I like how there is a specific place for the wood chip tray!

Overall it works great! Smokes a little hotter than I'm used to but the meat turned out great- fall off the bone with a nice smoky flavor.

I originally gave this a 2 as my original purchase would not turn on. I did return it and grab another. It is an excellent starting smoker. Does heat a little higher than the thermostat. Easy to clean, but i recommend the stand and cover. If your an occasional smoker this is great.

It is more better to me than my pit smoker

It's not terrible, but not top of the line either. The meat probe has never worked and customer service was not able to troubleshoot the issue. I have an external meat probe that I use instead of the one built into the unit. The burner sits too low below the chip cup, so it didn't create much smoke the first time we used it. My wife folded some aluminum foil to fill the gap between the burner and the tray and that helped immensely. The display shows a temp about 10 degrees below the actual temp, but if we set it to 210 it stays pretty close to the 225 target desired. All in all, it smokes, maintains temperature and seems to do the job. But the performance out of the box reflects the budget price point.

Smoker would not start! Returned!

When I received the smoker it was 2 inches and 3 inches smaller and less wide than advertised so I had no choice but to send it back.
