These work on the same premise as earth boxes but at a lower price. I have had earth boxes years ago and they are excellent but I can no longer afford them . These are an excellent alternative at a better price. I have just planted my tomatoes and are looking forward to harvesting in the coming weeks.
Made in USA. Easy to assemble. Using four of these on our deck for tomatoes. Wheels allow for easy shifting around when watering or to give different sides more direct exposure to the sun. Totally recommend.
Great size, very handy, easy to follow instructions even if you've never gardened before. I'm growing tomatoes on my apartment porch and they're thriving in this
Insanely easy set up. So easy and great to use!
These are great! Bigger than I expected!!
Love it! My plants are growing like crazy! Love the self watering!
Easy to put together with clear instructions.
Fits on my balcony for my tomatoe. However, had to place 3 water catchers plates under the whole thing because the weight of the soil made it sag few mm and water drips toward the middle of the box (under the box) and leaks out below to neighbor. Roots find water and drink. Says don't water the soil, use only Dry fertilizer, but I had a great liquid one, and was disappointed to know that. I guess so liquid won't cause any mold below, I was very afraid the whole season. In the fall I will see:) The black cover lasted a month or so, the sun scorched it. Watch out for the fruit flies etc who develop. Of course it's not the same as regular garden in your backyard, but it gave me few tomatoes:))) Just keep watering almost daily. Had to buy funnel because I didn't have hose connected in apartment. Used a bucket to water. Wicking does keep the soil moist, but not as much as sometimes I'd liked.
I really wanted to love these but after sitting out for less than 2 weeks the covers are disintegrating. I purchased top of the line potting mix for my first season and had them ready to go only to see covers like that today. I purchased potting mix on 8/17 and today is 8/29 and the covers are useless. I'm hoping I can get some response from customer service then I will change my review, if not I will never buy these again even if that add made in USA!
This item is good. The problem was with the vendor who sent the wrong color which needed to be returned to my local store. I was supposed to get a replacement but that never happened, so had to request a refund.
