Epson WorkForce ES-50 Portable Sheet-fed Document Scanner for PC and Mac

This is truly an amazing little scanner!!! Since this was my first time setting one up, I was a little nervous. The directions were extremely clear and walked me through each step. Did I mention there were only 3 simple steps to follow!!!! Installing the software was quick and I had no problems getting this scanner ready to go. I love the compact size - no more taking up room with a large printer/scanner combo that you don't need. Insert first test page.............success!!!!! I work from home a lot of the time and having this is a game changer for me. Scanning is quick and results in a clear image. The scanner can take a variety of paper sizes, including receipts. Without any hesitation I would highly recommend this for your office and/or personal scanning needs.

This Epson WorkForce ES-50 Portable Scanner is a game changer. I easily unboxed and had this scanner set up within a few minutes. This Epson is amazing compared to my previous scanner which was a hassle. I simply went to the site (link posted below for those that need help with downloading), downloaded the drivers, registered my device, and it was ready for use. All I have to do now is plug in, than put whichever document needed scanning and within a press of a button it's done. It will auto pop up on my laptop that it is scanning. It has many options as shown in my video below with more details. The size is fantastic, it's sleek, and durable feeling. Bought it just for scanning in business stuff, mostly gas receipts. I done 280 gas receipts in about 20 minutes, that would of taken me a few annoying hours with my printer/scanner combo (with the lid you have to close after linning the receipt up). I love it so far for that. Only downfall is the price of the add ons, seems a little crazy to me to pay another $100 for an add on, yes it would be a convenient add on, but ill just stick to saving the scans and typing in the date, place, and amount.

This scanner works great for what I need, a portable scanner that I can use on trips to scan receipts, cards, or documents. The price is fair, comparing to other places I looked, and the quality of the scanner seems fine.

pros: I flipping LOVE this thing. I wanted to purge paper, but keep the info digitally. This is a BEAST. I used it for 3 days straight. Scanned over 1500 pages. It does it at a good pace. And it just kept on trucking. * I have only really done documents and a few pencil drawings. It can get dirty, i am in a dusty place, but its easy to clean. Just verify scans as you go and make sure you clean (no streaks) and then calibrated the machine (else it might be off brightness wise) with the provided cleaning page and calibration page as needed. IF you have gunky stuck and its still making streaks after a quick clean ( I scanned a sticky note lol) I found you can lightly spray alcohol onto the cleaning cloth and send it through the cleaning option in the menu, let it dry for a min and then calibrate. When its real bad i may have to clean it 2-3 times, but it only takes a min. The software lets you continuously feed in a bunch of pages and then reorganize and crop before you save all the pages you just scanned into ONE pdf file, which is great. You can also rescan and add pages if one messed up before the final save. also you can just save as jpg which creates individual files all at once (for example i scanned two drawings one after another, but when i saved it was two files). CONs. 1. i wish it was wider!!!! Some of my bills looked 8x10 but i guess they are a few millimeters wider so i had to cut pages. 2. The page grabbers are only on the side and i had some torn page corners so that made it challenging (I taped to another paper). 3. A carrying case to protect and hold cleaning supplies would be nice, the box holds it OK but not as tight as I would prefer for travel.

I just received my scanner about a week ago. I haven't used this kind of scanner before. I have only used the big office kind that are a little more confusing. Once I received my scanner in the mail it only took a few minutes to set up and start scanning. The packaging was great and the scanner was secure during delivery. It came with all the information I needed and the powering cord. I hooked the scanner to my laptop first. It was super easy and only took a few minutes to start scanning. I first tried scanning normal paper. It worked perfect. Second I tried out pictures. I was very surprised on how great it worked. The pictures saved to my laptop so nicely. The third thing I wanted to check was scanning license and credit cards. To my surprise it scanned them as good as the rest. This scanner is going to make my job so much easier. It's small and portable. I will be able to put it right in my work bag and take it to the office with me. It's so slim and won't take up any room at all. I'm very happy with this scanner. I checked on the reliability before ordering.

Worked well until it didn't, I ended up with a black line on my scans. Attempted to buy the wet cleaning kit but none are available. I had attempted the cleaning sheet that came with the device but that didn't help after several tries.

Can't get it hooked up to difficult for me. I'm not electronic savvy
