When it comes to anything 'kitchenware', Farberware is an excellent choice. The weight of it is sturdy. I love that the whistling cover to the spout has a thumb latch. You open it and it stays open while you pour. The teakettle I had previously (another brand) had more of a ring that you had to hold in the open position as I poured. So this is a nice feature. I love it, and the price I paid for it was super. You can't go wrong with buying Farberware.
This is a heavy- duty tea kettle and has some weight to it. It's sturdy and does it whistle? You bet! Almost too loud in fact but I needed one that whistles because I hate waiting around for water to boil and most times walk away, lol. It holds plenty of water and there is a discreet little max fill indicator embossed into it. Plus, don't let the steam scare you when you go to open the spout. Personally, I have never gotten injured.
I love that I can sit in the living room and the whistle start and I know that I will have hot water. I can fill my little teapot with the water and have 2 cups of tea in my living room. A handle makes it easy to pour I think it’s easier than a full Handel
The bottom , inside %26 design I really like. I do wish it came in a box not a bag cause it does have a scratch on it. Things happen but the thing is I paid money for a better Tea Kettle and needed to be in a box. My last one was a cheap one and the handle flopping around. I love this handle and that's why I bought it. I will still give 5 Stars 🌟. Can't wait to see it heat and make some tea. Looking forward to having this kettle for some years. It is 2.3 qt Stanless Steal Whistling Tea Kettle by Faberware.
I think the design isn’t the best. The handle gets hot easy. I use it for pour over coffee and have used and prefer goose neck for better pouring control. The spout is ok but I sometimes still spill some water. I have not tried it with tea but can imagine it works just as well as with coffee.
It truly is a great kettle ! It is a short squatty kettle and that makes it boil quicker than the taller ones that are narrow. When the kettle is wider and the water is not so deep it seems to heat up faster.. and for me a big plus is I can leave the spout cover up so it does NOT whistle ! I HATE the whistles ! The lid is nice and tight so you don’t have to worry about it falling off and it also won’t let the steam out around the lid. But I am so happy with this Kettle !
I like the style and the appearance. the whistle is a little strange so I just turn it off before it whistles. if the handle we're not stationary this would be perfect. it's difficult to put bottled water with the handle that does not move. but I do recommend it.
Some reviews indicated that the handle became hot when the kettle is heating; some other reviews indicated a problem with rusting. So I am waiting to see if those concerns are valid.
Good appearance, comfortable handle, access to interior with removable cover, and whistle may be easily disabled by leaving it in the "up" position. With our induction range, it heats water quickly as desired, but has the slight negative of emitting a loud buzzing vibration during rapid heating. I have never experienced this with other induction cookware. I can only guess that the bottom contains some kind of "sandwich" of metals so it will work on induction, and this may be causing the unusual sound.
Nice look/design and does what it’s supposed to do however, would warn that when you pour water out of it, and that is typically hot water for a cup of tea or some thing, you need to hold the lid because it falls out during pouring. This to me seems like a bit of a safety concern especially if you’re not prepared for it you might get burned or spilled a drink so that’s the reason for the lower star rating.
