Fire Emblem Engage - Nintendo Switch [Digital]

amazing gameplay, the art style is great! I think this game is easy to pick up for those who want to jump in the franchise. my only con is that the story is really generic, but the gameplay makeup for that.

The presentation in this game is top-notch. Fire Emblem Engage's battle animation quality reminds me of the smoothness I saw in Fire Emblem Echoes on the 3ds. The frequent use of CG's and smooth cutscenes add to the experience. The battles within the main story are fun and provide a good challenge when I played on Hard Classic. While there are a good amount of Defeat Boss maps, the game gives you smaller objectives within those maps to keep the game fresh, and also uses maps objectives such as Escape and Defend when a story beat calls for it. As for the characters and story, if you're expecting the same depth and moral dilemmas of Three Houses, Engage's story and characters are much simpler, but I still had fun with it.

Following the incredible game Fire Emblem Three Houses, couldn't pass my opportunity on this new Fire Emblem game! The gameplay just brings you in %26 the characters you fall for, story is just a solid one.

First, I like the battle or combat system that comes along with some cutscenes in the game. Next, you get to recieve a Time Crystal that helps undo any mistakes you made while playing the story mode. Last, it has made a resting palace so your character stock up on supplies, gather up food for cooking, and having support conversations with your allies to build stronger bonds to do better in battle.

I was a little annoyed to discover that the Fire Emblem Engage game I purchased through Walmart was the European, PEGI-rated version of the game, as this was not disclosed during my purchase. Nonetheless, thankfully, the Switch is not region locked when it comes to physical games. Thus, while it may not preclude me from playing the game, it's a little annoying to receive something slightly different from what I ordered and without being informed of said difference beforehand. It's the lack of proper disclosure of said difference, more than anything else, that I find to be problematic and cause for concern.

Has the best combat/gameplay of any Fire Emblem game to date (and maybe in the SRPG genre overall) but the story/characters/setting are a notable step back from the series high of Three Houses. So bear that in mind if those were bug selling points for you

Got this Fire emblem after playing Awakening in my 3DS. It is not up to par but it is entertaining. No issues with shilling and buying process at all.
