Why didn't I get one of these years ago ?

Carol from Colorado September 21, 2017

I purchased this to use with the foods I am drying inmy new dehydrator. Then I decided to try it on salad greens...to keep lettuce from browning so quickly. Works like a charm! That function alone will more than pay for it. And time saving, I can cut up lettuce, cabbage, and shredded carrots for several days...add tomatoes and avocados right before serving. Love it.

Great idea!

Cyd1 October 14, 2018

When I first got my Foodsaver I realized how beneficial the jar sealer might be, so I ordered the large size right away. I had NO idea how much I would use it. Flour, rice, crackers, dog treats, spices. I can mix up a big batch of my fajita seasoning and vacuum it and it lasts for months. We live in a dry climate but even that doesn't prevent foods from getting stale. The jar sealer does! I recently purchased the small size for spices and rubs and smaller quantities of dry goods. I use them regularly and would recommend them.

A FoodSaver Best

Biffy62 December 30, 2016

This isn't the first jar sealer from FoodSaver I've purchased. I have both standard & wide mouth jar sealers. I bought these ones for my Mom for Christmas because she saw mine. I just wish they would make the Gem size jar sealer, because the old jars look so nice in my pantry. The jar sealers are a must have if you do a lot of stocking up. I find Tupperware gets stinky but storing in glass doesn't. Great for storing dry goods & I also use it for freezing soups, broths, etc. 100% make it part of your FoodSaver accessories, I'd be lost without them both.

Great addition to my Food Saver Sealer

bufmo October 30, 2017

I bought the wide mouth and the regular size jar sealers. Then, of course, I needed to buy the wide mouth jars. I bought quart and 2 quart size wide mouth jars. I already had plenty of pints and quart regular jars. I love these sealers. I put left over scalloped potatoes & ham, sloppy joe hamburger, in the freezer. I also had some opened bags of flour that I sealed in the jars. Dried apples in the jars , too. I love these sealers.

Love this!

Badmargo July 8, 2017

Just started using this and I am delighted with the ability to use glass jars for leftovers in the refrigerator. I am moving away from plastic containers to using glass for storage. I love not having to struggle to find a lid and the food shows up in the glass jars. (We do label leftovers, however.) Food stay fresh and jars go into the dishwasher. And it's easy to use!

Pretty decent FoodSaver® Regular Jar Sealer

Burner December 3, 2017

Pretty decent FoodSaver® Regular Jar Sealer. Have sealed Ten cases of regular mouth ball/mason jars since getting this about a month ago. I do put the lids in warm (120F) water and usually get about 80% first seal on using Ball lids. Sometimes you just have to use two lids on stubborn jars, run the vacuum seal, and carefully remove the topmost lid. I can get 100% first seal using the two lids technique. Not one of my sealed jars using this regular lid tool have lost seal. Worth the price if you have the vacsealer machine..

Difficult to use

englebrau May 12, 2018

Hose that comes with sealer does not work with the FoodSaver II. Had to use original hose from the wide mouth sealer. Rubber gasket comes off with each use. Seal failures happen about 25% of the time compared to rarely with the 27 year-old wide mouth sealer. Annoying instead of helpful.

Disappointed

D Houston March 31, 2020

The regular jar sealer seems to be too small for the jar lids, tough time sleaing and the gasket always comes out of the cap. I think you need to revisit the design and/or manufactures specs of the regular jar sealer. I also have the large jar sealer and it works great, no problem. Don't waist your money

No Jo July 17, 2017

The rubber gasket comes out after every use. I have the wide mouth sealer and it works great. But this one is just a hassle to use. I am not happy with this regular mouth sealer. Not worth the money to keep or send back. And it doesn't seal the jar the first time. I have to seal 2-4 time before it seals

Not happy

Valorie May 1, 2017

My large mouth jar sealer does a GREAT job 100% of the time, but my regular mouth sealer only seems to actually give me a solid and permanent seal about 50% of the time. Often during the sealing process the rubber gasket comes off when removing the sealer after the vacu pack is done - very frustrating to have to keep putting it back on between every jar!! VERY frustrating to have to keep checking my dry pack jars and resealing so many. Wish I put everything in wide mouth jars instead!!
