Gaiam Cork/TPE Yoga Mat, 5 mm

First off, I dont have alot of experience with yoga mats and often use the thick rug in our basement or the kids foam mats they have for playing down here! This yoga mat seems like great quality! its a little on the thin side and takes awhile to lay flat after rolling out but not a big issue! It has a non slip rubber bottom to keep the mat in place! The carrying handle is great! Super easy to roll the mat back up and attach the carrier to keep the mat nice and compact for storing away! Very lightweight and easy to carry around. The mat has a slight "rubbery" smell to it at first but quickly goes away! I highly recommend this mat to anyone looking for a good quality fair priced yoga mat that seems to be holding up great! If there were anything I could possibly change about the mat it would be i wish it were a little bit wider as its pretty narrow, as well as i wish it were a little big thicker, again this is my first personal yoga mat and I dont know how it compares to other options out there but seems like a great quality product, and looks very nice!

I was so excited to receive this yoga mat and I have not been disappointed at all! Quite the opposite! First of all, it didn't have that nasty smell that a lot of yoga mats seem to have these days so right out the gate I was very happy! It comes with a carrying strap that you can cinch as tight or loose as you like so you can roll the mat up however small or large you want. And it doubles as a carrying strap - super handy! One side is cork, which is great. The other side is a black gripper material which is also great because it keeps the mat in place on the floor while I'm moving around. It's 68 inches long so I can completely stretch out on it, no problem. It's 5mm thick which I was afraid would be too thin but it's actually just right. I'm 62 years old so I need the mat to be thin enough that I can keep my balance but also thick enough that when I'm on my knees I'm not uncomfortable. So, as it turns out, 5mm is actually just right for me. It indicates it blocks germs, moisture and odor - not sure if that's due to the cork? Anyway, I couldn't be happier with this yoga mat.

I have to carry my yoga mat on the metro, and this is perfectly compact and light. Non slip. Simple and sleek. Love it!

Decent quality yoga mat. Very light. Slides a tad bit on the floor and it is relatively thin. Does a good job of soaking up sweat and does not get slippery when wet.

Bought this for my son because his daycare required it and it was listed on a list of nontoxic yoga mats as budget option. People mentioned a smell - I didn't notice it, I just directly put it outside for a few days. It is thin and I'm not sure how durable it will be. But at first glance after purchasing it seems ok

I usually buy a really expensive cork mat and thought I should give an affordable alternative a chance. Honestly, you get what you pay for. The cork is papery/plasticy and it doesn't settle down to lay flat even after a good few uses. It's also much smaller than I'm used to. I'm going to keep buying the yoloha one, but I'm glad I know for sure now if it's worth it.

• First off i must say that this mat offers no cushion, it's very thin and has no padding what so ever. This mat in my opinion is not suitable for laying on to do sit ups or other type exercises as it has no padding! however it may work well for stand up excercises. It is free of seven harmful phthalates(DIDP, DnHP, DINP, and DnOP) although it did have a strong chemical smell, I think it will dissipate in time. The dimensions are 68 inches long by 23.5 inches wide by 5 mm, it does say under the care instructions that before use, wipe the mat with a damp cloth to increase stickiness and I'm not sure why but I'm assuming they're talking about the black plastic underside to prevent slipping in case you are using it for stand up exercises even though it it has a non slip texture. I was going to use this mat for stretch and yoga and on the tile floor. Pros: Light weight Easy to roll Cork side supposed to be antibacterial Con: Thin and less cushiony for hardwood and tile floor I find this mat to be too thin and not cushiony to support my body on the tile floor. I like the cork side of it that supposed to be antimicrobial and it's light to roll and carry. But the cushion support for me outweigh the pros and for that reason I have given it 2 stars.
