Amazing blackstrap molasses! The texture, flavor, color, and the less sweet taste is exactly what is expected in blackstrap molasses. I can’t find a better product for the price anywhere. Very pleased. I use this in coffee, tea, baking, among other things.
My mom made popcorn balls from this when we were kids. It's got that special, "tastes like it's got some nutritional value" twinge in its taste. We got so used to it that when I first tasted Crackerjacks and store-bought popcorn balls, it seemed like those products were missing an ingredient. This is the real stuff. I drip it over some 100% natural, Kroger brand chunky peanut butter, then layer it with some crushed pecans and ohh, my, it's like an instant slice of pecan pie. I also mix this molassed into my "cold oats" mix (with chia seeds, oat groats, raisins and unsweetened cocoa powder, then add milk and let it sit over night) for an exquisite breakfast bowl of victory! For that breakfast: sprinkle wheat germ and ground flax seeds over the top, plus nuts and blueberries to supercharge your innards.
My 30 year old horse has eating challenges, and is recovering from a sickness that cost him a lot of weight. This molasses product is a great additionm to his daily meals, encouraging him to eat all his rations, and regain his weight... along with a lot of TLC.
This definitely doesn't have the bitterness I expected from blackstrap, but that's ok in my book. It has a very slight hint of sweetness almost reminescent of a honey, so it's almost like this isn't blackstrap at all. And the price for this amount is nothing short of amazing. Given how long molasses lasts, I'd say snatch this stuff up while you can! Any you don't use now you can still use years from now...
This is Blackstrap Molasses. it is very Strong Flavored, Very Black, Very Thick and Rich. Its probably great for cooking where a strong presence of molasses flavor is preferred but ... I wouldn't know since I rarely cook with it. I take 2/3 Tablespoon morning and night as a supplement which I learned in the 50's from my Grandmother (not this brand) I restarted a couple months ago but finding a Good Source of actual Blackstrap is difficult at any price ... never mind a reasonable price. So a Gallon seems maybe a bit extreme but ... its not likely to go bad. Anecdotally I find that taking it the way I am has seemed to solve a couple age related problems I'd been having. Is this "proof" of anything? NOPE! Will it work for YOU? I don't know. I suggest YOU do your own research. Some of my research said it would help and it seems to have done so.
A few of the bad reviews previously submitted on Golden Barrel Bulk Unsulfured Blackstrap Molasses Jug (128 Fl Oz) made me nervous; however, I decided to take a chance and order it anyway. Boy, am I glad that I did! Referencing the photos, my jug of healthy and delicious Golden Barrel Bulk Unsulfured Blackstrap Molasses was delivered promply by FedEx following my order on 10/30/2025 without so much as a leak, scratch or dent and it has a long shelf life remaining (BEST BY 07/01/2029). Wow, I could not be more pleased. Golden Barrel Bulk Unsulfured Blackstrap Molasses Jug (128 Fl Oz) is much more expensive elsewhere, so save yourself some money and don't hesitate to purchase this product online at Walmart.
i have purchased black strap mollasas at health food stores and this one i bought online in the walmart app is dark, rich, full of flavor and the value is great exactly as the others i have had. i would recommend if your looking for a quality product. it could be shipped packaged better there was nothing to prevent spilling or bottle ruptures but it arrived with a dent and smashed top just about to spill luckily seal was in tact and the product is great ! i will still buy it again !
Its the real deal Black Strap , A gallon sounds like allot Yet i have ordered three in two years. If you have never tried Black strap try to find a small jar to taste . Get ready to pay about half as much as this gallon for a small jar though. Now I'm craving molasses cookies ...
I absolutely love a teaspoon of this in my morning coffee. I have to also add that my blood sugar level has gone down when I get up in the mornings since I've been taking this.
This product tastes great and appears to be a good value, but the nutritional levels are questionable. On the Walmart website, this product shows a nutritional label stating Calcium percentage at 20%, and Iron 25%. However, the label on the jug I received has a completely different looking label with Calcium at 16% and Iron at 17%.
