I already have a nest thermostat of this model on my first HVAC system on the second floor of my home I ordered this thermostat to replace the one on the first floor of my home as it is a first generation and is not supported by Google Home Thethermostat is easy to install Great features and we'll work with most systems Unfortunately, the thermostat doesn't work with mine as I have seven wires coming out of my air conditioner, and this thermostat has connections for Six I returned the thermostat and ordered a model that will be installed with the correct wiring I like nest thermostat because of the ease of use installation and the Google Home app is easy to understand

Google and Walmart, your description of device need to include that this version is no longer supported by Nest. I purchased this thermostat hoping to be able to use pin number for security. It doesn't have a lock function.

After two weeks of frustrating emails with Goigle support, I was told our NEST thermostat was out of warranty and just neede to be replaced. I found this deal at Walmart on the newer Google Nest thermostat. It took some effort to install in place of the original NEST thermostat because the new one has a smaller footprint and requires screws in a stud. Once I got it installed, it immediately displayed an E294 error. Thanks to this Google community member's recommendation, https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Nest-Thermostats/Nest-thermostat-with-e294-error-R-wire-not-detected/m-p/36034, I got it working. It seems that you have to connect the C wire, but don't check the C wire with the other 4 wires in the Google Home app during the installation process. The Google Home app interface is quite different from the original Nest app, but we figured it out.
