Great Value Basmati Rice, 2 lb

Great rice! The long grains are healthier than regular white rice and seem to have less unhealthy additives. Doesn't clump together and has a lower glycemic rate - in other words healthier. Has a nutty flavor missing in regular white rice. Love it!

I buy this rice weekly. We love it, but for the love of God, would yall PLEASE package it better?!?!!! This bag that you're currently using just doesn't do the trick. A container with a lid would be much better to use and for storing. Might be a little more expensive, but I wouldn't mind paying the difference.

I've been really happy with this rice. It cooks up fluffy, smells great, and tastes really good. It's become a staple in my pantry and goes well with all kinds of meals - mostly Filipino Dishes that goes well with rice. Great quality for the price! 😊

We eat a lot of rice in our household and Great Value Basmati rice is our standby in the 2 pound size. The key to fluffy rice is not just in cooking correctly, but in preparation as well. Rince the rice in cold water repeatedly until the water is clear. Then steam as you normally would.

We make Basmati rice in our rice cooker and have always used name brand rice. This was a substitution and is now my favorite! The taste is spot on, the aroma is amazing and the rice is fluffy. I highly recommend going with Great Value Basmati rice, you won't be disappointed.

I was ecstatic when Walmart offered a 2 lb. bag of gv Basmati. It's my favorite of rice to cook. Cooks up light and fluffy and no starchy, sticky mess. A great bargain to say the least.

The reason I gave this 2 stars is because Basmati rice smells somewhat like popcorn when it is cooking. The taste and smell of other brands I've bought is excellent. This brand however did not have a different smell or taste and for the price I paid I must say it was a big disappointment. It tasted like white rice. It did cook up nicely like long grain rice but like I've said the taste was the same as white rice.

I purchased the two (2lbs) bag of Great Value Basmati Rice, which is described as a shelf-stable, unflavored basmati rice offering about twenty (20) servings per bag, but sadly, I never even got the chance to cook a single serving.... When I went to prepare the rice, it was so dirty that even after multiple thorough rinses, the water remained murky and filthy. I did not feel comfortable cooking or consuming it in that condition, so I ended up throwing the entire bag away. I don't know where Great Value sources its basmati rice, but they might want to consider finding a cleaner source. I will not be purchasing this product again.
