this product is a great value. it's great as a snack, or a dessert. you can crumple it up or put it in a blender to your favorite snacks and shapes. I used to eat ice cream now I eat frozen yogurt and I love to either put the yogurt into the blender with a few of these or crumble these up and throw them on top. it's a great substitute of sprinkles. they are low carb and very good for you. I like to throw some almonds in the blender with these when I'm going to make a shake or a topping for my frozen yogurt.
I have been conditioned to believe that all the artificial ingredients in the other national brand taste good and that the artificial softness of these other brand products make them better than general value cookies. I hate being wrong, but these great value fig bars are just as the name describes "Great"! OK I had to eat 3 packs of these bars to make sure sense according to statics the minimal number of anything you are working with to determine the accuracy of the data is 3. Oh no I think I only needed to eat 3 cookies and not 3 packs! I better go an eat the rest to cover up my mistake. My job is never done.
The cost of the name brand version of these cookies is outrageous. We enjoy these and don't even remember what the brand name version tastes like. We are a family of cookie monsters and can't go to long with out a cookie. There is enough cookies in the package that allows everyone to enjoy more than just two or three. We pretend these are good for us because they have figs in them.
I crave these fig bars. Next to all other cookies, these are the healthiest and great tasting with lots of dried fruit in a thin cake wrap. My only issue with them is not the cookie, but the price, which has almost doubled in the last couple of years.
Don't let the photos on the packaging fool you. Physically, the fig newton is a lot smaller. However, when it comes to taste, it's absolutely delicious. Warning: You start eating 1 Fig Newton, by the time you realize it, you have eaten an entire pack. The Great Value Fig Newton is exactly the original, no matter the flavor. However, the actual size inside the packaging is what gets you.... very small. When you actually take the physical fig newton and lay it on top of the actual packaging photos, the actual fig newton dwarfs the actual photo. Excellent packaging. 3 trays encapsulating the fig newton cakes and sealed in its own plastic container, followed by the actual outside packaging. For those who are semi diabetic, eating a lot of this will raise your blood sugar. So, eat with moderation. The price is ok, compared to the brand name product.
I love these cookies! My crazy sis calls them old people food, LOL. I like them and my grandchildren like them too. And they come in 3 separate packages inside this outer package. That makes it easy to keep them fresh. I recommend them so, give it a try…even if you are not old, LOL.
It's amazing how good these cookies are! They were actually freshener and softer than the Fig Newton ( brand) that I had bought the week before. I bought a small package the first time, but I won't make that mistake again 😅, they disappear too fast!
I actually love these BETTER than brand name ones! I could eat a couple of them daily and they remind me of growing up eating them. Well worth the price and I highly recommend them to anyone who loves fig and graham flavor combined. I plan to continue to buy these versus brand name ones.
I usually get top quality fig bars that taste better than the premium labels. For some reason this is what I got last time. The smell is off, they taste horrible and the color is off of the filling. Not sure what happened.
I remember years ago when these were considered a healthier cookie. Not anymore. They have changed the recipe on these. They look different — pale %26 oily — like there’s hardly any figs in them. After white flour, the SECOND ingredient is HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP. And then there’s figs, but then even MORE sugar, two types — regular corn syrup and dextrose — and then PALM OIL, and on and on.
