Lots of Rice

Lindsey April 24, 2026

I misjudged how much rice this would be and didn't have a container big enough to hold it all but that was my mistake. This is the better deal, but I might just order the 10-pound next time. I'm eating rice pretty regularly now, but it still seems like a bit too much for my needs. The rice itself is good; I've got no complaints.

easy to make, just put 2 times as much water as rice, add salt; cover pot and bring to a boil, then turn fire down. After 15 minutes, turn fire off. Wait 5 minutes, enjoy.

It is rice. Cooks fine in my Aroma rice cooker. Tastes fine. Texture is fine. Not a whole lot to say about white rice but it's a typical white rice. I do rinse it first before cooking until the water runs clear.

Perfect making rice

Beachlife March 11, 2026

I usually buy the 5lbs bag. It lasts me 1 week at my house. I use to buy the 10lbs but they no longer have it. I buy the 20lbs which lasts me even longer about a month. Only rice I can make that comes out perfect everytime. You get good rice same as name brand at an affordable price. Thank you great value for having good food at an affordable price.

The Best Great Value Long Grain Enriched Rice

Nanapad217 February 13, 2026

I highly recommend this Great Value Long Grain Rice. 20- lb of great value rice low in saturated fat, sodium and cholesterol. Enriched with vitamin B1, ferric phosphate, folic acid and niacin. No artificial flavors or colors naturally gluten-free rice. Heart-healthy choice. Can be prepared in a rice cooker or a stove top. To retain vitamins do not rinse before or drain after cooking. I cook it as a white rice, yellow rice and i add it on my soup. This product is kosher certified!

Love it

Anna March 3, 2026

Rice go to good in meatloaf or chicken loaf or turkey loaf taste good and or lamb and just try any kind of meatloaf chicken lamb or turkey. Just be sure you get a food processor chop while you meet up and put some kind of sausages all like I say bacon real bacon and just have a ball try different good things instead of regular meatloaf, chicken love turkey lamb loaf, economy, meat product, and it taste good. Don't Sasha. Mix it in with other meats.

Good buy for price point

SG March 28, 2026

This is a medium grain rice, rather than long grain. The bag also has many tiny broken pieces of rice. Taste and aroma are not comparable to higher quality rice, but fine for this price point and for what I needed to make. Lastly, this is the starchiest rice I've ever seen, so I recommend washing it thoroughly until the water runs clear, which will also get rid of the residual husks and the tiniest pieces of rice. The rice to water ratio is 1 to 1.5, and not the usual 1 to 2 needed for true long grains.

This is the budget item. Not as consistent as my preferred low cost brand, it tends to dryness. However mixed with other grains/lentils, or soaked for an hour before cooking then it works. Definitely don't use this for an event without practicing with it first. Slightly mineralized taste %26 smell, not objectionable nor enticing either. Why I don't rate it lower? It's consistently clean unlike some other brands. The quality is solid. It's not full of rotted or bug eaten leftovers. I do recommend rinsing at least once before cooking for safety.

Something isn't right

Flowerbomber April 6, 2026

I use rice to deliver coconut oil to my 6 dogs and give them each about 1/4 cup with dinner every night. I cook 4.5 cups every Sunday and it lasts through the week. I switched from the Mahatma 20 lb bag to save a few dollars and all 6 of my dogs have struggled to digest the Walmart brand, had diarrhea, or threw it up. It was rinsed, prepared the same, and no difference whatsoever except what was done before I received it. If you know about dogs you know it should not be a problem to switch brands on a pure product such as rice, corn, or green beans and yet this switch creates a huge problem. Throwing away and switching back to Mahatma.

Not a fan

Jay April 11, 2026

I don't like this kind at all. Even with half the water it's mushy, flavorless, soggy and takes forever to rinse. I'm spoiled with basmati and jasmine though so going back to this is no bueno. I was broke so I had to count my pennies, I will wait next time because it was such a bad experience.
