Great Value Minced Onion, 2.35 oz

For years I have loved the minced Onion. Is not that I am lazy about cutting onions, is just that any dish needing onions to it, has lots to do with it. The minced onions is a handy way of quickly adding onions. Everyone can make their bowl of chili or soup, as much onions as that person likes. And those of us whose stomach has a mind of its own and tummy will not keep down a lot of onions, have a easier eating time if the chili or pizza sauce is only light with onions, minced onions work.

Convenient to have in your pantry for when you might be out of fresh onions. Adds delicious onion flavor to dishes without the tears of chopping. Great for cooking. I even add it to dips that mellow overnight before serving and the onion bits soften and blend into the dip.

Sometimes when I'm out of onions, this is a great substitute if I'm just wanting a little onion to add to whatever I'm cooking. If you're wanting a bit more you can always measure some and let it sit for a few minutes in a bit of hot water before using, or just add some to the pan while cooking. Very handy!

So now anyone reading this can take a benefit from the tragic void left behind as I watched my poor little Mincy slip away into the abyss never to be in reach 😭 ever, ever again!!! Oh wait that's right I finally remembered to restock 😂 Yeah it's clearly a desired ingredient in this house.

GV Dried Onion, This and Garlic are my go to spices for everything. I think it has more flavor than even real onions. That said, the last couple bottles looked like they were not full. I have used these for years, I have seen some full and some not so full. So I got out my digital scale and weighed the new one today. It weighed 2.37 oz! Even though it was like an inch low in the bottle. So I give it the Best Rating. And I feel less worried about the fullness of the bottle.

This is handy to use when I don't have a fresh onion on hand. I don't even have to hydrate it first when adding it to recipe with moisture, such as sloppy joes or soup. It's great for the onion flavor you really need in your recipes.

I LIKE THESE FOR WHAT I USE THEM FOR; SHELF STABLE COMPARED TO THE REAL ONIONS WHICH USUALLY GO BAD BEFORE I GET TO THEM. I RECOMMEND FOR PEOPLE LIKE ME WHO DO NOT COOK A LOT.

these flakes really expand into chewy little onion chucks. I put too much in some tomato soup, so go easy, it's much more potent than powder.. perfect for growing a scratch spaghetti sauce profile. I've added it to jar sauce also but you'll have to really hydrate it and cook it down.

I like this instead of getting a fresh onion, not using all of the onion and it getting rotten. Normally I mix it into ground beef and let it rehydrate a bit. Tastes the same as using fresh onions. I use it in soups and stews. I find it saves on food waste and is super convenient.
