I use at least 2 jars of caraway seed every March when I bake Irish soda bread for my family and friends. I originally used the name brand but got this when the store ran out of the name brand. To my surprise, I didn't notice any difference in the taste or quality of the bread, so I continue to buy it. It is much less expensive ,comes in larger sizes and tastes just as good as the more expensive type. I wish I had tried it sooner. I give out my recipe when asked and always note that this brand is the Caraway seed I use so they won't waste money on a name. Some spices I will always use the name brand but with seeds I don't notice much difference.
Recently I picked up some rye flour and wanted to expand my bread making into the world of rye, and needless to say, caraway seeds are a must. These did the job in a pinch, were nice and aromatic, and arrived super quickly. I'm impressed by the freshness of them overall, and they made a great loaf!
A fragrant spice that adds depth to baked and savory dishes. This Great Value Organic Caraway Seed is fresh and full of flavor. The aroma is strong but balanced, and it adds that perfect warm, earthy taste to breads, stews, and cabbage dishes. It's great quality for the price, and the organic label gives peace of mind. A wonderful staple to keep in the pantry if you like cooking from scratch. Helpful Insight: Lightly toast the seeds before adding them to bread dough or soups — it brings out their natural sweetness and richer aroma.
I was craving sauerkraut with caraway seed. this spice fit the bill I am very thankful that I can get organic spices, quality Foods from Walmart. I am retired and it's getting very difficult to be able to afford groceries so to be able to get something of quality instead of just something you can afford is a blessing.
My Grandmother years ago shared a special recipe with me that everyone always raved about. From Hungary she always had fresh vegetables arranged on a large platter and made a special dip called Körözöt. It has a bit of caraway seed in it among other things and everyone always raved about it! Cream cheese, cottage cheese, chives, and Sweet Hungarian Paprika!
Difficult to find the Caraway seed in most store and unfortunately Walmart only had the organic in stock. But I needed it now so was happy to find them. Easy to order. Product is good but a little pricey. Pickup was smooth. All is good.
So great to find caraway seed properly packaged in a spice bottle that fits on my spice shelf. Apparently grocery stores are no longer carrying any kind of caraway seed in stores, so it was a relief to be able to buy it in this packaging.
is your Caraway seeds are very tasty. I put them in some homemade chicken, pecan, and cranberry chicken salad. the Caraway added that little zing to the chicken salad. I highly recommend
I use for cauliflower/ broccoli soup and tastes delicious. Also melts just fine. If you're not a cheddar person, this is much milder..😋
I have only used this item once. It is my first time using an organic caraway. The aroma when opening the bottle is fine but in actual use the flavor seems much less pungent than the non-organic seed that has been on my shelf for years. Price was good and I bought it because it was a sizable bottle. But if the flavor is lacking, I do not want my dish to look like a bowl of caraway seed.
