Great Value Organic Celery Seeds, 1.8 oz, 1 Count

Celery seed by the big spice companies are very expensive so these were a good price and do the job. My celery isn't used that much and tends to go bad so these are a great alternative.

Ruined several cucumbers making pickles before I realized it was the celery seed. It tasted like kerosene.

This does not taste like celery seed @ all. More like cigarette ashes ! Even by opening the jar and inhaling there is no sign of celery aroma whatsoever. I have alwyas used celery seeds in certain foods. They were out of the brands I have purchased in the past and this is all they had. Don't waste your money on this.

This jar DID NOT contain celery seed. Celery seed smells very strongly like CELERY. This jar contained bad smelling dill-like seeds. I accidentally put some in the pot expecting celery seed. YUCK. Returned for refund, but a large pot of expensive food with wild rice is probably ruined. Thanks Walmart. Quality control time. Certified organic yeah sure.

These seeds are much larger than celery seed and taste terrible. Furthermore I thought I was being smart buying some before I was completely out. When I found out it was bad stuff I tried to return it since it was clearly a Great Value product. Since I did not have the receipt (who keeps grocery receipts for 3 weeks) I was told that I could only exchange it. Why would I want more bad product? Suppose it was poisonous, would anyone want to exchange for more? The GV basil is not good either. Fool me twice shame on me.....

I purchased this product because no other brand was available. I used it in 5 pounds of potato salad and it ruined the entire dish. this can't be celery seed. it tastes like oregano. I am completely dissatisfied with this product. it doesn't deserve even one star.

This is the second time I have bought these and both times they tasted like plastic when you bit into them. The first time I added them to my coleslaw and it completely ruined it. This time, I used it to make salad dressing and again, tasted like a plastic bag. Something is clearly not right with these.

I wish I had read the reviews before I used the seeds for canning my pickles. The seeds are horrible, can't figure out what they smell like, kinda like oregano

I'm pretty sure these are lovage seeds and not celery seeds. They are much bigger and have a strong, licorice type flavor. They taste nothing like celery seeds. I do not recommend them.

This product ruined two batches of coleslaw. It has a definite bitter smell and taste. I compared it with a jar of McCormick celery seed and the difference was incredible. You've been warned
