Great substitution for the name brand SPAM. This is the original, haven't tried the low sodium or other 'flavors' but this is every bit as good and half the price! I used it on a pizza and it worked great too. will be using this instead of SPAM for the extra savings in my food budget...Great Value comes through for me again!
I hate spam/ luncheon meat, I think it's gross, but my other half likes it, so I buy it for him. He likes it just fine, never had any complaints from him. So as I said I do not like spam/ luncheon meat. BUT... He made some the other day, he fried it and then put onion, pickle, mustard, and then begged me to try it... Well to my surprise it was pretty darn good! It kind of reminded me of a white castle burger... FYI, I don't like white castle either... So, go figure 🤔, but I like this. So if you're looking for something cheap. I'd say give this a try. Maybe Google different ways to fix it, and find one that sounds good, you might just like it. I was really surprised.
Just as good as Spam! I like mine sliced very thin and cooked very well done. Delicious! Kudos to Great Value for keeping it reasonably priced as well. I was shocked to see the price of Spam these days 😅 like ..what?! It used to be the struggle meal...now you gotta be making $60k/yr to afford Spam brand smh
With crackers, straight out of the can or fry up for a sandwich. Dice up and add to eggs for breakfast. The other canned meats are good but I really enjoy this luncheon meat better. A pantry staple for sure.
This item was a first time purchase for me, but I will keep it in my pantry so I won't run out. I was pleasantly surprised at the texture and taste of the meat, flavorful and easy to use and store. It makes a good sandwich, but I sometimes cube it and mix it into my scrambled eggs for breakfast.
This is really close to a name brand product and cheaper. It is a versatile shelf pantry item that can be cooked with a little imagination in many ways. The best way for me is crisp and fried with eggs. However I have used in casseroles with great success and homemade pots of beans. I would not recommend using salt with this product by nature it is salty.
Best Buy! Very close to original spam. The taste when fried is not that noticeable a difference from the name brand. Walmart did a good job here. Shelf stable that lasts in the Cupboard. Small amount of a salty jellied broth. gain . Does contain fat but then so does Spam. It slices easily. Secret poor man's dinner that goes far. They recently raised the price but still cheaper than Original Spam.
Delicious taste and texture - Reminded me of years ago camping and fishing. Wasn't much jelly like I remember but always wiped that off anyway. Loved keeping a can in the tackle box - dinner and bait all in one. Lol. Was easy to remove from the tin - Fried up nicely: wasn't greasy. Will buy again - saved part of tonight's dinner for tomorrow - Will cut up and mix in a slaw mix. Hope you enjoy yours too
I do, and these meat loaves make is what it is. We add additional items like; cheese, vegetables, sauces (make little troughs in the bottom rice to encapsulate the sauce), peppers, just about anything you can think of, these luncheon loaves make Musubi a great meal, and at Great Value prices. … Nuff Sayd
the best thing about this product is that it's inexpensive two bucks a pop! the bad thing is it doesn't feel sufficiently compressed? I put it in the refrigerator so as to help it become very firm so when slicing I can be as thinner thick as I wish at that moment! I consider it one of the best buys at canned Meats if you're talking about saving money and still getting a product that will do the job!
