These are large sardines, they do have bones that disintegrate as you eat them and unnoticeable but a great source of calcium. Sardines are the most sustainable way to eat fish and the safest since they are very low on the food chain and are super nutritious. Enjoy!
I eat these SPECIFICALLY for calcium, but I don't fully trust the nutrition label - Never seen a tomato sauce with "zero carbs or sugar" so how do we know if all of the other data is accurate? I do love them, love that the tomato sauce somehow prevents sardine odor, so if I keep and eat them cold, I can eat them at work, which is tasty on salads or rice crackers! if the skin/bones creep you out, mush up well and don't look. The soft bones are great for us middle age ladies! Sardines are low on the food chain so way less mercury/metals risk than tuna/salmon!
Sardines are the right size and the tomato sauce could be a little more bolder, but this brand is one of the better ones out there. Definitely WAY better than the Goya brand sardines.
I enjoy this brand very much will continue to purchase as long as the item is carried.
I like using these sardines in place of salmon for croquettes/patties/burgers whatever you call them. I used oatmeal instead of crushed crackers for my recipe and they fried up good. they go well with mustard ketchup or barbecue sauce.
This is a meal in itself!
The product represents good value for the money. Some manufacturers that also sell sardines in a 15 oz. can provide very, very little fish along with an enormous amount of olive oil or tomato paste or some kind of liquid filler. For example, I can't stand IBERIA products!
The apps nutrition label doesn't match up they are not caught from the same place literally all the contents were double the amount I thought I was getting. There's soybean oil in it and guar gum and modified tapioca starch which in the apps ingredients it doesn't have.
Man...idk. These sardines are larger than normal and on the mushy side. Worse, they have a really strong, offputting flavor unlike other sardines I've tried. I'd say it's more of a gamey quality than outright spoiled, but either way it left me nauseated. Avoid!
The sardines are covered in scales and they get stuck in my throat!
