Buying jars of salsa can get very expensive. On average it was costing about $4 a jar (sometimes more) for the big name brand. When you need multiple jars this gets expensive. I was not too sure when I came across the Great Value salsa. But I decided to try it since the price was really reasonable. Well another surprise to me that it is actually great. Just as flavorful as the big brands. So I now pair that with my nachos and use as an ingredient in so many of my recipes. So glad I tried it!
I keep trying to make salsa from scratch, but why bother? This jar is seriously dangerous—it disappears in minutes when I bring it out. It has that fresh, zesty kick without being a fire hazard. My only complaint? They need a family-sized bucket. Ditch the fancy brands; your wallet (and your chips) will thank you.
This Great Value Thick and Chunky Salsa Mild is exactly what it promises: thick, chunky, and full of flavor. First, that satisfying seal on the jar? Pop it open and you know something good is coming. The texture is perfect — chunky enough that every scoop is substantial, smooth enough that it clings to your chip instead of dripping all over the plate. It’s the kind of salsa that turns casual snacking into a full-on dipping experience. Flavor-wise, it’s mild — no blazing fire here, just a gentle kick that enhances the natural tomato, onion, and pepper notes. Perfect for those who want taste without tears. Use it as a dip for chips, a topping for tacos, or even stirred into eggs or rice for a quick flavor boost. Versatile, crowd-pleasing, and always reliable. Five stars. Would absolutely scoop, dip, and enjoy again. 🌶️✨
I get the mild variety as I want an easy-eating salsa on chips, or even atop scrambled eggs, or in tortillas. I like the chunky variety and the others are too runny. I would rate this equivalent to the quality and taste of Pace's salsa. Keep this in stock in my pantry.
I absolutely love this salsa! yes it's generic but it is really great I eat it on just about any kind of chips, flour tortillas, a lot of different food items highly recommend it. I like the mild or the medium it is just right as a family members like the heart but I unfortunately can't handle it. ingredients are fresh it a great dip for any occasion.
I really like the Great Value brand salsa. It has simple ingredients with a great flavor, just the right amount of kick and a perfect, chunky consistency. I like this as a dip for a quick snack, for topping tacos, and for making salsa chili or chicken in the slow cooker. I originally tried this salsa just because of the price point, but then ended up really, really liking it.
I liked the ingredients though more onions, as far as I am concerned the more onions and green peppers the better in salsa. One thing I did not like is it said mild but I have a vary sensitive mouth and usually mild is just right but this was a bit to hot for me but others may think it is mild, that is a personal opinion as one person’s mild is another ones burning hot. Overall was very good.
This is not at all spicy, very mild and great as a whole family salsa to please everyone. The taste is good for jarred sals, I would prefer fresh, but jarred is more reasonable to have availble- in my opinion it tastes the same as the other salsa brands.
This product is tasty and worth the money. it is a very close similarity to the popular brands. I purhcased the mild because I did not want it to be too spicy. I chose well because there was a hint of spiciness. However, it was not a lot or overbearing.
I bought this assuming that all salsa kinda tastes the same, but this one has a different texture and flavor than some salsa from a different brand I had purchased before. Not sure if it would be better with nachos or chips but I used it in a recipe that requires salsa and it did not turn out as good as before.
