Excellent tool.

W WA May 24, 2021

Just dethatched our ¼ acre lawn. I ended up using the lowest setting to get the desired penetration. I was able to reach most using a 100' 12-gauge cable. When Adding another 50' to get the distant bits didn't seem to affect performance. Works great.

Super Simple and Impressive!

dkbrig2000 May 13, 2020

For a small yard that hasn't been power raked in 10 years, this Dethatcher did the trick! I couldn't believe the amount of thatch that was lifted and the simplicity of it all was amazing! Dealing with the cord was a little tedious, but I'm so happy to have saved a ton of money over hiring out the job or renting a professional power rake. The best part is I own this and can use it every year from now on! Totally recommend!

Greenworks Dethatcher

Chicagoland Homeowner June 4, 2021

Used it once and grass was not cut to lowest level. Maybe still 3" high. I set the Greenworks at the lowest setting and still pulled thatch that filled a 40 gallon bag. My yard is around 15K sq ft. Will do it again in the fall when I cut the grass shorter. The process took about 3 hrs inclusive of hand raking. When I would set hatch by hand it took 1.5 days. I was also beat and needed a day or two for my muscles to recover. Felt fine after the short 3 hrs. So product worked nice.

Work smarter, not harder

Zack217 May 24, 2021

If you're tired of raking dead grass, I strongly recommend this dethatcher. After making 4-5 passes on a particularly dead portion of my lawn, I collected 10, 30 gallon, yard waste bags full of glass. The dethatcher moves along the lawn with relative ease. The height adjustments are intuitive. Comes with replacement tines. Overall works very well and it's a nice piece of equipment with a reasonable price point. Cons: you need a lengthy extension cord that you will be working around during your job. Minor inconvenience..

Does Exactly What It Says It Does!

Dazzza May 6, 2020

We bought this as a cheaper alternative to having someone do it for us or for the continued cost of renting equipment. The price seemed to be great value and after reading reviews from various retailers (both box stores and online) we decided to give it a try. The dethatcher did exactly what we had expected it to do and now out lawn looks great. I was amazed at how much this little machine dethatches in just one sweep. In fact my only complaint was raking it all up afterwards (yes I knew there was no bag with this model so I am hardly going to criticize it because of that). The one issue is the cord holder wasn't made to hold heavy duty extension cords and yes you have to stop every now and again to make sure the cord is out of the way before you "dethatch" that as well but again it's not worth knocking a star off for something I was aware off BEFORE buying an electric dethatcher. Overall, very impressed by both the machine and the price. Assembly is easy, instructions are clear and I love the safety features.

Great Product and Great Tool For The Yard!

Danny W June 14, 2022

This dethatcher worked wonders not only in my yard, but also my in-laws. I told my father in law how great and time saving it was and let him borrow it. Both houses were dethatched in about 45mins per house front and back. I would 100% recommend this item!

Greenworks Dethatcher is worth the money!

Anonymous February 24, 2021

I bought this based on reviews that were posted. For a small yard this is a great dethatcher. My yard has never been dethatched and I wanted to get down to dirt. I went forward about 10 feet then pulled the machine backwards to the starting point. Tilting it forward and the pile of thatch falls right out. So every 10 feet I had a pile to pick up instead of just going forward and then raking it all up. I'm glad I purchased it and it sure beats trying to dethatch with a rake.

Awesome!

Jessicams43 April 5, 2024

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have never owned a dethatcher. I did quite a bit of research and watched multiple You tube videos and decided on this greenworks dethatcher. It exceeded my expectations. It was super easy to assemble, to use and to clean and store. It did a great job thatching my yard and all my neighbors commented on all the piles of dead product I was able to collect afterwards.

Pleasantly Suprised

SandyG May 8, 2020

We purchased a house last fall. The lawn was full of thatch and moss. I tried a thatching blade on the mower which did an ok job. My son sent me a video of this thatcher. I purchased it and was surprised how well it worked. Because of the amount of thatch I had to move slowly or it would bog down. When done I removed 10-12 large wheelbarrows of thatch. I'm giving the lawn a couple weeks to recover and will do it again as there is still more thatch to be removed. Nice little machine that did a great job. I would suggest larger wheels as it got stuck in holes, also an adjustable handle height. I'm all of 5'4" and the handle came up to my chest.
