I bought this based on other reviews that said it doesn't dribble when you pour the coffee, and it was worth waiting for it to arrive (instead of choosing whatever the store had in stock) because it is perfect! I can pour a cup of coffee without having coffee all over the counter. Not even one drip! We've had it about a week, and so far so good with the functioning. The coffee brews hotter than the Sunbeam we had. (The Sunbeam was a similar-looking model, and we had it for about 2 years. I had to keep a sponge next to the coffee maker because it dribbled with every single pour. Huge pain.)
Great coffee pot. Best bang for the buck. You can't go wrong with this and when it gets clogged up from your hard water, throw it out and buy another just like it. We have terribly hard water where we live and it doesn't matter how much I spent, the useful life for any coffee maker is short. Got tired of it and decided to try this out. Very satisfied with its performance and the programmable feature is a real plus.
After our previous coffee maker stopped working, I checked customer reviews before selecting this Hamilton Beach coffee maker. This is the first Hamilton Beach brand we've had. Our last coffee maker was a Mr Coffee and it was a basic model. I decided to get a more advanced model that had more features. This coffee maker works efficiently and the coffee has a great taste. I like the feature that lets you select what type of brew you prefer. I select the bold brew because I like strong coffee. The only problem was that sometimes the paper filter would collapse during brewing. I fixed this problem by going to Walmart and purchasing a $5 permanent filter. The coffee actually tastes better with this permanent filter. I'll never use paper filters again. If you're looking for a new coffee maker, I would recommend this coffee maker.
This is what we needed, it looks great in our stainless kitchen, it does the job. We had a larger coffee pot before with a brewstation and it was a joke, it kept leaking and breaking so I junked it because the parts I needed were more than the coffee pot! anyhow, LOVE this pot! Forgot how much I missed just a normal coffee pot...works great and looks good doing it! :)
I am a heavy coffee drinker and seem to go through coffee makers every 6-12 months. If the heating element lasts beyond that for me it will be the best maker I have had yet and I have tried many of the lower cost brands. First off what it doesn't do that others do... it doesn't drip when pouring which has been an irritant having to pour over the sink all the time in the past. I don't have to worry about it overflowing because the lid cam up a bit and shut off the basket drain because the water spout holds the basket down. When I lift the lid all the water condensation doesn't drip down the back of the coffee maker but drips back into the water reservoir so no mess or worry that water would short it out being that is where the power cord is too. I like that it is basket filter which is less expensive then cone filters and I find easier to use. I also like that you can read the water level in the reservoir from either side. I haven't tried out the brew levels of regular, bold or 1-4 cup but for me the regular makes a good pot of coffee. You do have to manually move the spout back over the reservoir to remove the coffee basket but when you close the lid it automatically moves the spout back over the basket and holds it down in place. It does have an option to buy a water filter for it and wish that was included which might help with heavy mineral content in the water taking life from the heating elements. I haven't tried the programming of it but seems it would work. I wish the hotplate would stay on for longer then 2 hrs at a time but understand the reasoning for that. So overall I have not found anything wrong and amazed at the price as it was one of the lowest costing of all.
I bought this coffee maker to replace a more expensive Mr. Coffee that broke in less than a year. The non-stick surface and the pause n serve function are what made me buy this coffee maker in the first place. At this price, it is unbeatable for what it is capable of doing and its compactness helps in my small kitchen counter. All I can say is Hamilton Beach makes great products.
Makes great coffee. My only concern is that the carafe looks flimsy and the reason we keep having to buy new coffeemakers is because the carafe breaks. That's why we buy cheap ones. This is the cheapest one yet and so far works as well as the previous ones that we've had.
I have had the coffee maker for a week now and have used it everyday. It brews a good cup of coffee with the choice of 'regular' or 'bold' and does so well. The timer works and let's me get up to fresh coffee in the morning. I am not an expert at tasting coffee, but I can't imagine what great difference a more expensive brewer would make. I can only guess that a higher price maker would last longer. But since this one is still working, so at the low price I am very happy.
Had this coffeemaker for almost a month now. It makes good coffee and easy to use. Really like the no drip coffee pot. My husband use to drip coffee all over the counter with our old more expensive Mr. Coffeemaker. Haven't had a spill with our new pot. Also easy to clean and can't beat the price. Yes I would recommend it to a friend.
My Hamilton Beach Coffemarker arrived on time at the Walmart closest to my home. Although I only make coffee on the weekends (3 times so Far) I can rate the coffee maker as an excellent value for the buck. The main feature I was looking for is that it shut off automatically which it does and makes a good pot of coffee. My Expectations were met. As far as durability, time will tell. I purchased the black which blends well with the other kitchen appliances. I would recommend this to a friend.
