Hamilton Beach 12-Cup Programmable Drip Coffee Maker Machine with Glass Coffee Pot, Black

Easy to set up, works great, and looks like it would be easy to clean. The only thing is that there is no backlight for the screen so it's difficult to see in a darker kitchen since the screen is at the bottom (my previous one was at the top). There was a bit of a plastic smell at first use but it's not there anymore.

My old Hamilton Beach of 15 yrs finally died. I don't make single cups of coffee lol .. I make pots of coffee. Out of the box, I ran water thru the pot w/o any problems. I see one a minor crack near the water reservoir, but it didn't seem to leak or affect the quality. Should problems arise, I will update my review.

I just received this coffee maker and first thing I noticed is there is no water filter. The instruction says “filter optional” and after checking Walmart's website, I see that the filter costs the same amount as the whole coffee maker did. I'm extremely disappointed about this. Also, the control panel which displays the time and brewing options is so dim that the only way I can read it is getting down on its level or use a flashlight. I got this at a good price, but would not have purchased it knowing what it is like I just made my 1st cup of coffee, and it's messy water dripped from under the lid on the top as it was brewing.

Purchased this unit after watching a coffee maker review by a content creator that has reviewed many coffee makers. Wasn't able to fibd the specific model he talked highly of, but it was a Hamilton Beach coffee maker, so I took a chance on this one. It does check quite a few boxes for what I was looking for in a coffee maker. Wide and unobstructed water reservoir opening, making it very easy to clean throroughly. Option between regular and strong brew. No drips when pouring a cup, on the counter or onto the hot plate. And obviously programmable to have coffee brewed and ready in the morning. However. The plastic used for the filter basket, carafe handle, and carafe lid is very cheap and flimsy. I assume the same plastic was used in casting the unit itself. Which worries me that hot water may be causing chemical breakdown of the plastic and it might be working it's way into my coffee. Or that the carafe handle could break. I even had to remove some stringy plastic from the filter basket and the from the unit. The glass carafe itself is already shifting in place as I wash it. No declaration on their website whether they use PFAS or other toxic chemicals in the plastic, but because it's so flimsy I assume so. I suppose I'll be forced to spend $60-150 if I want something sturdy and seemingly safe for long term use. This model was very cheap, but I've purchased coffee makers for $35 not long ago that felt very sturdy and included more features, such as an audible beep when coffee is finished brewing and when the hot plate turns off. Which is something else this unit is missing. Very disappointed. I was expectinh much better than this. Maybe that's my own fault.

It brews well, not over priced. I highly recommend it.

The timer and the filter are easy to use, and looks pretty.

So far this coffee maker checks all the boxes and I am pleased with the operation and purchase. The clock is large enough to see from a distance and the basket is a easy clean. I especially like the option of the setting of "bold" taste . The safety feature of the a uto-shut-off is a pulse with life getting busy.

Needed to replace my 10 year old Hamilton Beach and this coffeemaker looked similar to my old one. It does not perform as expected. Slow to make even 6 cups and noisy the entire time, plus makes random noises after coffee is made as long as it is on. It was similar in price to my old one and my old one was quality so I thought I'd found a more updated model of my old model. It is in no way the quality of my old one. I wish I had investigated further and passed on this one.

the heating plate got rusted and peeled away. Very unsightly. also, spring on coffee holder came out.

Good to have for a backup but not very reliable or long-lasting.
