I bought this mixer to replace my 1970’s Sears stand mixer. I like that it has a handle to carry it and that it really suctions to the counter when using it. I also like that the bowl has handles on each side for easier handling when pouring stuff out of the bowl. I don’t use a mixer on a regular basic but would definitely recommend this one. I used it for the first time today and made the Cowboy Cookie recipe that was in the instruction booklet. It worked great at mixing the heavy cookie dough with not a lot of vibration and was quieter than my old mixer.
I purchased this mixer to replace my old KitchenAid mixer. The mixer was easy to use, performed very well, and was a much lighter weight than my KitchenAid, which made it easier to lift out of my cabinet. The suction cups kept it from moving on my granite countertop. I made cookie dough and it came out perfectly. I would definitely recommend this mixer.
I ordered the hamilton beach mixer for a last minute Christmas gift. I was so pleased that I could get it in 2 days and the price was good. My granddaughter was happy to get it and already has tried a recipe. The color is beautiful (aqua). I hope she has years of use from this appliance. Thank you
Great home mixer for the occasional baker. The speeds printed under the handle are very helpful. I did not expect the nice and easy tilt button to be easier to use than kitchen aide, but it is. I did not expect high end quality just needed a mixer for holiday batches of cookies and cakes and would not recommend for professional all day use every day. Pleased with the price and operation.
Very easy to use. I am thinking it mixes gluten free bread flour dough just as well as a $700 Kitchen Aid would. However it does not come with the same bragging rights to make your friends envious. 😎
So far so good. I love the style and the handle on top. It seems to be well built. It have suction cups to stick to the countertop which is nice and a lock-in mixing bowl.
After a lot of review, I decided not to get the most expensive mixer (Kitchen Aide) which would have been very heavy to pull out of the cabinet every time I was to use it. I hope this one lasts as long as I need it. It has all the features I need. I was so happy with how it mixed cookie dough without any problem. I had to scrap the sides of the bowl once or twice at the beginning of the mixing process then didn't have to after that. It mixed the dough into a nice ball, even after adding chocolate chips, which I used to have to mix in by hand with my old mixer.
This is a very nice stand mixer overall. It did have a little difficulty reaching the sides of the bowl and required a minimal amount of scraping with a spoon when making pizza dough. A minor inconvenience. And it did seem to bog down just a little when kneading dough but the unit did not overheat or anything like that. For what this unit costs I'd say it was worth purchasing. It is a very nice looking unit and functions well other than the things mentioned. One other thing - it was not shipped by Walmart as indicated on the sales page. FedEx shows it was shipped directly from Hamilton Beach. Plus, it didn't arrive in the time frame indicated. It actually arrived about a week late.
My son bought this after kitchen aid tragically burnt out, and was excited for it. If you plan to make any sort of dough that requires kneading, like pizza dough, or bread dough, save up and buy a kitchen aid. This product has poor torque needed for kneading, the dough hook design is poor for dough as well as it doesn't grab any of the ingredients from the side of the bowl, its also designed in such a way that instead of bringing the ingredients together to knead them, it chops them up into small pieces, causing poor gluten development, and resulting in rough dough that lacks the smoothness it requires. It rocked so hard when making dough, using the below the recommended speed (3 for kneading, I had it on a 2), that the head popped up so hard it bent the locking mechanism. The rocking is so bad it shakes the whole counter and the bowl cover rattles like crazy. I guess its to be expected when its constructed with such light weight materials. I had to stand over it and hold it down firmly to finish the dough, which came out poor. If you only plan to make things like icing, using the cream attachment, or making batters for cakes and such, this product would be great for you, but if you plan to make any doughs requiring kneading, I do not recommend this product. The unit requires a better locking mechanism, hardier construction than plastic, and a weighted bottom rather than suction cups that don't really do anything.
I bought this mixer 6 months ago and is not working properly anymore. when I try to lift it to take out the bowl it gets stocked, the release tilt button came out and can't use it if I don't hold the head myself. I was very excited, Hamilton beach products are usually good quality but this one was a big disappointment
