The juicer had no issue getting through whole vegetables, worked very efficiently, and compared to other juicers it produced a noticeable amount more desired liquid. Only improvement to be made may be a larger collection cup. Otherwise this juicer is perfect!
I have been wanting a juicer for a while, and was always hesitant to purchase one thanks to their reputation of being pretty expensive. When I heard about this juicer, I spent about two days reading through reviews and finally decided to purchase it. I couldn't be happier. It is everything I expected and more. It makes tons of juice. It's easy to clean. It fits entire fruits and vegetables inside. It's honestly one of the best, and smartest, appliance choices I have ever made. You need to get this if you're like me and are looking for a great starting point to enter the juicing world.
I'm not new to juicing and I've been looking for a new juicer with a wider mouth to cut down on prep time. This juicer meets that requirement and a whole more. It's very easy to clean and pulp is very dry so I'm getting more juice than my old juicer. I recommend this juicer. It's a steal for the price.
I don't see why people pay hundreds for a juicer. This is a great product easy to assemble and clean and the price is a bargain. I've never been big on juicing because the pulp is mostly lost, but I think you still get some serious nutrition from juicing. Anyway I'd definitely recommend this juicer and kudos to the lady that said she puts a plastic bag on the pulp container, great idea that makes cleaning very easy. Thanks Hamilton Beach, great product.
I purchased this juicer in an effort to get more fruits and vegetables back in to my diet. I have used it almost everyday for a month and have had no problems. Easy to set up and easy to clean! Use the plastic fruit bags in the pulp receptacle for even easier cleaning. The only thing it does not juice well are leafy greens but you do still get some juice from them. Everything else has been great and I love having real juices without the extra sugars and preservatives.
My girlfriend was interested in getting into juicing, so I did some research on different models. This wasn't my first choice, but the fancy unit I was looking at was sold out. But after getting this unit and using it HEAVILY for the last few weeks, it in incredible. We put 2-3 batches through it a day, and it has stood up great! Carrots, sweet potatoes, plenty of softer fruit and leafy vegetables have met their fate in this machine of joy. One of the reviews I read said its cleanup was difficult, and to use a bag in the pulp bin. We tried this the first 2 batches. We haven't done it since. It's very easy to clean up, with the most time being spent using the included brush to clear out the screen. Overall, it's really easy to clean. And it's relatively quiet to boot! I'd recommend this heartily as a starting unit. Perhaps after a while when we've checked out other people's machines, we may be able to see other features which might be worth extra, but this seems like a steal at this price.
After reading many of the reviews, I decided to give this juicer a try. I am so glad that I did! First, I have found that although the juice made from this juicer, initially does have a "frothy" like foam on top, after several days in the fridge it will dissolve. I would recommed that you juice in advance & refrigerate for several days, if the "froth" bothers you. Secondly, line your pulp bin with a plastic bag before juicing, it helps with the clean up. I would advise you to clean your juicer promptly, dried remains will be harder to clean..they provide a brush for easy clean up. Third, I have found that juicing in abundance is good for those new to juicing. I made a gallon of green juice & I have been enjoying several glasses daily without having to juice. Lastly, first time juicers...because your objective is to extract juice, understand that juicing a cucumber, celery, or an equally "juicy" fruit or veggie will yield more juice then kale, or some other less than "juicy" fruit or veggie. So, do not be discouraged if your juice recipe yields minimal juice, but lots of pulp...fresh juice is your main objective. Quality -vs- Quantity, your choice! Tip: Do NOT use bananas, avacado, beans prouts, bok choy, figs, mushrooms, or white potatoes in your juicer. Happy juicing!
I've only used this a few times, but it works great for juicing carrots, apples, & ginger. Tried parsley and it didn't fare too well. Just shot the leaves into the pulp bin. Could have been "operator error", though. Willing to try again. The wide mouth hopper makes jucing only a few carrots somewhat awkward since they rattle around quite a bit before you get the pusher in place, but it isn't that much of a drawback. Would not recommend juicing whole apples since the seeds contain certain toxins and aren't good for you. All in all, a good product. Metal clamps are very sturdy and should be long-lasting. Other parts are made well and seem as if they will be durable. Easy to assemble/disassemble and clean. Recommend running it just for a quick second after washing to get all the water out of the basket. Would recommend.
I had a more expensive Breville juicer that I loved, however, hubby was too lazy to clean it one time, and lets just say I didnt want to use it after that. I planned to upgrade to a better Breville juicer, however, I came across the reviews for this one and, the reviews were better than the one I was looking to purchase. With that said, I decided to give it a try, with almost 400 reviews and a 4.5 star rating, its worth a shot. I am very pleased with this juicer. I have no problems, juicing is a flash, and I actually get more juice with less fruits and veggies. More expensive does not always equal better.
As Of 11/27/2013 I have used this Juicer 4 days out of the 7 days. I am in the experimental stage of Juicing . So far each of the 4 days that I have Juiced up about 1 1/2 Quarts each time. The Machine has performed flawlessly So Far. :) The Machine seems to leave a bit More Pulp than I thought it would and since I wash all the Veggies/Fruit before putting them into the Juicer the pulp is Nowhere near dry.Clean Up is easy enough. Most parts just rinse off. The Basket that processes the food takes a bit of work scrubbing in warm soapy water to get it back in a properly clean Condition. Merely trying to rinse the "Basket" Does not work , you have to scrub both sides of it with the supplied brush and rise over and over in order to clean all the particles out of the basket. I let it soak in the warm soapy water a couple minutes Pryor to scrubbing.I hate cleaning but it takes me less than 8 minutes to clean. Durability?? Time will tell. :)
