Hamilton Beach Classic Black Hand & Stand Mixer

I may not cook that cook that we'll but I do know how to bake cakes. I love this new mixer and it works very well. I would recommend it to friends and family to use this.

Great mixer for the price paid. Does what I need it to do. Picked the unit because of the stand and ease of use.

My wife loves this mixer! I bought her a more expensive model which she had me return for this one. It detaches and becomes a hand mixer in addition to being a stand mixer. It works by rotating the bowl instead of having a sophisticated mixing movement. It does what it is supposed to, looks great, and was a fraction of the cost of higher end mixers. We are not an industry and do light baking, so it is a perfect product for us. My wife loves it!

I recently read a bread label at the grocery store, and wasn't able to pronounce or understand what chemicals were being put in the bread. I decided $29 would be a reasonable amount to spend to make my own whole-grain bread. This mixer came with dough hooks, and I didn't have $200+ for some of the bigger kitchen centers. I find this little mixer is perfect for everyday things like muffins and mashed taters. If you have kids, or if you like to make batches of items to freeze(like I do), it's a bit small. I would recommend that you bite the bullet and upgrade to one of the kitchen centers. It takes practice to put the mixer on the stand. Be warned: there are three hooks/clips that attach the mixer to the stand. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. If you are going to make bread you cannot have the mixer attached to the stand. You run the risk of breaking the clips. When you use the mixer without the stand, it does a fine job. All the bread I've made has been excellent. And, the mixer has a flat end and stands well on its on. I recommend it for a beginner, as a wedding gift, or for an older couple(like us) who don't need a huge appliance.

So far the product is performing well. I don't have much experience with stationary mixers, but this one does what I want it to do well. It has enough power but maybe strains a little. I suspect from the reviews that I read before purchase that others were expecting a lot more than they were paying for. I have no problem using it - the blades and portable attachments work well once you get used to it. I'm very satisfied so far. Durability can only be established over time. I suspect that given the frequency that I will be using it - it will work well as long as I don't force the motor beyond it's capacity. You know when a motor is straining.

I am a home baker and just didn't have the money to spend on one of those high dollar stand mixers that charge you as much if not more for any and all accessories to go with it... I have been using a hand mixer or plain old elbow grease to get my baking needs done... An issue with my hands has forced me into using more "tools" to complete my tasks in the kitchen... I looked into several options and decided to try this one... As I have borrowed from my sister her higher costing and more heavy duty stand mixer in the past (Boy those things weigh a ton), I really wasn't expecting this one to perform like hers... It is light weight, a little flimsy in the turntable area, the multi-speed button sticks a little and kinda catches when trying to move the mixer into the "up" position... Over all though - It works and does the job well!!! It makes beautiful fluffy icing in a fraction of the time it took me to do it by hand... SO worth the price that I may buy a second one so I can whip up meringue and icing at the same time!!!

Nice mixer, will get the job done, stand and handle parts being made of plastic doubt that it would stand up to A LOT of use. But good enough for me and my occasional cooking chores. Doubt that you could beat the price. Bowl is a VERY thin light weight stainless, so doubt that it will take a lot of beating about, or it will dent. But again, gets the job done for me. I think if given proper care, it should last many yrs.

I mixed up a batch of chocolate chip cookie dough with this mixer and it didn't do a very good job. It had a tough time mixing the ingredients and the mixer came apart from the home base. I'm sure this thing would do fine with mixing cake batter, but it doesn't seem suited for heavier work. Perhaps I used the wrong mixer thingies? I don't know. I should give it another shot, but try different mixer utensils.

Upon delivery, the box had a hole in bottom of it, it was obviously opened before, and taped back together.....I believe this product was returned, taped back together and resold!!! Not happy at all, and fully intend to return it, and purchase another somewhere other than Walmart.

While mixing it only gets the middle even when moving the lever in the front. The bowl doesn't move side to side enough to get everything mixed in. I had to use a spatula to push everything towards the middle. I finally took it off the stand and did it by hand.
