Hamilton Beach Classic Black Hand & Stand Mixer

This mixer is much lighter than I anticipated but works like the old-fashioned 2-beater mixers. The bowl spins so I can scrape down the sides without stopping the mixing process. The only down-side I have found is that the dough hooks and bowl can only accomodate 1 loaf of bread.

This stand mixer is strong %26 durable. Its Great for baking cakes, bread or any recipe that is of a thick consistency. The mixer itself is strong %26 powerful. The beaters/attachments insert %26 remove easily. The stand is durable to handle mixing options. The bowl is sturdy. The base moves two different setting for optimal mixing. Cleanup is easy. The hand mixer detaches easily, for those recipes less dense, (i.e....mashed potatoes.

I have been wanting a Stand mixer for such a long time! When I saw this one from Hamilton Beach I knew that this was the one I wanted. I love that this doubles as a Stand and Hand Mixer, and depending on the need it comes in super handy to have that option. Powerful machine that works Beautifully each and every time. There are multiple speed levels as well as different attachments. I like the Black with Stainless look as it fits perfectly with my Kitchen's decor. As always Hamilton Beach is a Quality Brand that has durable, well-made products that my family trust. The price is unbeatable also!

I have only used the mixer once so far (for three recipes). It worked great: mixed a simple batter as well as kneaded dough well. I'm very happy with it. The only thing I wish it could do is have the kneading feature while on the stand (you have to hand-hold the mixer when kneading); but then again, at this price, I can happily live with that.

I recently read a bread label at the grocery store, and wasn't able to pronounce or understand what chemicals were being put in the bread. I decided $29 would be a reasonable amount to spend to make my own whole-grain bread. This mixer came with dough hooks, and I didn't have $200+ for some of the bigger kitchen centers. I find this little mixer is perfect for everyday things like muffins and mashed taters. If you have kids, or if you like to make batches of items to freeze(like I do), it's a bit small. I would recommend that you bite the bullet and upgrade to one of the kitchen centers. It takes practice to put the mixer on the stand. Be warned: there are three hooks/clips that attach the mixer to the stand. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. If you are going to make bread you cannot have the mixer attached to the stand. You run the risk of breaking the clips. When you use the mixer without the stand, it does a fine job. All the bread I've made has been excellent. And, the mixer has a flat end and stands well on its on. I recommend it for a beginner, as a wedding gift, or for an older couple(like us) who don't need a huge appliance.

Nice mixer, will get the job done, stand and handle parts being made of plastic doubt that it would stand up to A LOT of use. But good enough for me and my occasional cooking chores. Doubt that you could beat the price. Bowl is a VERY thin light weight stainless, so doubt that it will take a lot of beating about, or it will dent. But again, gets the job done for me. I think if given proper care, it should last many yrs.

I mixed up a batch of chocolate chip cookie dough with this mixer and it didn't do a very good job. It had a tough time mixing the ingredients and the mixer came apart from the home base. I'm sure this thing would do fine with mixing cake batter, but it doesn't seem suited for heavier work. Perhaps I used the wrong mixer thingies? I don't know. I should give it another shot, but try different mixer utensils.

Upon delivery, the box had a hole in bottom of it, it was obviously opened before, and taped back together.....I believe this product was returned, taped back together and resold!!! Not happy at all, and fully intend to return it, and purchase another somewhere other than Walmart.

0 Stars. This unit couldn't make dough for one normal sized loaf of plain white bread. It is beyond useless as an overhead mixer and shouldn't be bought by anyone looking to use it as such. It is just a crappy little hand held mixer with a very crappy plastic stand. 0 stars. Junk.

bought this as a gift for my daughter's birthday she has used it less than a dozen times in 9months it no longer works. have used Hamilton beach forever always had good things to say, but not anymore.
