I will be using it around the house and wooded property for light-medium duty small scale clean up, especially on 8 miles of double track trails on 100 acres with side-by-side but decided to try it to its max first time out of the box. 16" red oak fell on trail and made 25 cuts with pause between each to load firewood in bed of UTV until 4.0 Ah battery died! I was impressed. Keep chain oil tank full. Sharpen chain regularly. Keep batteries charged. I still keep my 16" and 24" Stihl gas saws in back of UTV but 90% of the time the first one I reach for is my Hart!!!
Excellent for yard use. Choose the 16” over the 14” as I had both. 16 comes with case, faster charger, brake and is brushless motor. 14” doesn't have any of those features and the difference is only $50. Great battery saw and highly recommend for small jobs around the property.
I had way too much fun with this thing after Hurricane Helene. pine trees it cut like butter, hardwoods took a little bit more effort, but still no trouble. I went with this thing until I finally broke the chain when it got caught in a falling tree (whoops, my bad there), but got a new chain, and right back at it like nothing happened. I love it. hoenstly had more power than an EGO or a ryobi one I had borrowed times before. best chainsaw I've ever used. 10/10
if you want to pick up a saw and cut big limbs or small trees without choke prayers and cord pulling buy this. if you are a logger you are not reading this. If you are reading this then its more saw than you need but at a price point you can have it anyway. yes it USES batteries. like you need a couple/few. but if you want to quickly fill a truckbed with firewood you should buy one. Safety tip! this is not your dads old sthill. this has ALL of the torque at every speed. its not a toy to be played with.
We bought this as we live in a very rural area and often encounter trees in the road. We carry a gas-powered Stihl in the pickups, but now have an elderly parnt living with us and wanted something safe from gas fumes for the inside of our Jeep Cherokee. This fits the bill nicely, it will get the job done as well, (perhaps a little slower) as the bigger gas saws, and if need be it can be recharged off the Jeep's inverter. It has more than enough power for trunks and limbs out to 14 inches and that gets things worked down to where we can us the vehicles winch to finish things up. We highly recommend it! It is also great getting in firewood all by itself, six ricks of oak and wild cherry so far from winter-weather feld trees this spring. We may just get one for our vintage Lincoln Town Car.
I love hart tools. Their size is perfect and easy to handle for someone new to using power tools. Perfect for use around the house and out in the woods. Love my new saw!
the oiler is not working correctly after a half hour I noticed the chain was stretching I checked the oil in the bar chain it was not empty at all unfortunately I had not used the saw since I bought it two months ago so now when I need it it's when I find this problem out. I have to take it 25 miles away from my house to get it serviced.
Overall, I love the saw. It has plenty of power, and the battery life is okay. The only issue was the quality of the suppled chain. As soon as I pulled the trigger and the chain started, the chain jumped off the cog. After it immediately jumped off a second time, I looked at the chain, and one of the links was bent. Once I purchased another chain, it worked fine.
I love the hart 40v chainsaw itself... but the battery just kicks off when it gets to hot... but that's the whole thing.. if im outside and its hot outside like 90°F I dont want to fool around with the wood im trying to cut up. Literal 3 cuts all the way through about a 18 inch wide long and through the 3rd cut it turns off and you never just stop abruptly through a cut it will ruin the bar the chain. Other than the battery with its overheat safety function. It performed well. Great chainsaw but very limited with current battery.
Wanted to love it and then disaster happened. Worked perfectly fine at first then chain kept coming off. No matter what I tried the chain would not stay tight at all. I have the hart 12in chainsaw and never have an issue with it. But needed something larger for bigger limbs. So disappointed.
