Customer Insights: Rated 4.3/5 from 103 reviews.
The Honeywell Electronic Deadbolt with Touchscreen is easy to install and program. I have several of these locks and this has been the easiest to install and use. It also seems to be the best quality of the 3 similar locks that I have. Also, if you need to contact them, their customer service is fantastic. It is very rare for me to give 5 stars but this lock and their customer service deserve it. The Good • The instructions were easy to follow for installation. It took me less than 10 minutes & I only needed a Philips screw driver. They simplified the process even more because it has an auto sensor identifying if you have a right or left-handed door. • The instructions for programming are easy to follow. It took about 5 minutes to change the admin code and set the different entry codes. • The satin nickel finish and design is stylish and looks nice. • I like the one touch locking. Just hit the lock button on the touchscreen on the way out and it locks. • The LED touchscreen provides enough light to easily see the panel numbers. • There are 50 programmable user codes so you probably won’t run out. • It runs on 4 AA batteries or manually with the included keys. • Some locks are not bump proof but this one is. So they paid attention to the details! • I like that it has vacation mode to disable all lock functions until manually turned back on. This could also be used at night. Considerations • It does have a lock out period after I believe 3 failed attempts to enter the correct code. So, you may want to carry the key with you. • Sometimes I have to touch the screen a couple of times before it wakes but it only happened occasionally. I have not had this lock for long but it has been great to install and use. I would not hesitate to recommend it.
As we upgrade our home with more tech it just makes sense that entry methods would get better. This touchscreen eliminates the need to carry around extra keys. My car no longer has a physical key so it is nice to not have extra stuff in my pockets now. This is easy to install in an existing deadbolt hole and for me was essentially plug and play.
This is a nice lock for the price. I had to drill the holes to install it as there was no deadbolt there. It works good. You can use the keypad or a key which is great. It has an automatic lock function that you can use if desired. It can be set from 20 to 900 seconds. There is a vacation mode that puts it in low power mode and disables the keypad. You can turn sound on or off off for the keypad. The instructions that come with the lock are great.
The Honeywell deadbolt with a touchscreen has been a great addition to our entrance. It was very easy for my husband to install. The directions for programming the deadbolt were very clear. The lock works flawlessly. It is so nice not to have to worry about bringing a key with me when I go for a walk. Highly recommend!
Easy to install and easy to use
My front door is a deadbolt only door. My kids cannot seem to remember where they leave their keys. Ever. So, aside from trying to hide a key outside (which I hated because anyone could find it), I wanted to buy a keyless deadbolt so they could get in more easily. Cue the Honeywell Electronic Deadbolt with Touchscreen. I thought this was going to solve all my problems. I thought wrong. This deadbolt presents itself well. It's pretty. The brushed satin matches my other door features perfectly. The touchscreen looks fine. The actual material the housing is made from is not the highest quality. It does not feel like steel like my existing deadbolt and door handles are. The feel of this Honeywell deadbolt housing is more aluminum and plastic. The innards are not heavy-duty steel either. Very lead-based, soft metal. I know there was nowhere in the description that stated that this was a heavy-duty deadbolt unit, but one would think that something that is supposed to keep intruders out would be more hefty. The touchpad programming wasn't too terribly difficult. We chose a code and it took. But when we entered it and pressed unlock, it locked itself. Press lock, and it unlocked. So, my husband re-read the directions and even took the housing apart again to make sure everything was where it was supposed to be. The screws that come with this are complete junk. Stripped almost immediately from cross threading and one even got stuck. At this point, my husband gave up on installing this. So now it's in a box on my counter. We will try again when we get that one screw unstuck and find longer, heavier screws to use. Our existing deadbolt is a solid piece of equipment. This Honeywell Electronic Deadbolt is not. Unfortunately, at this time, this is not something I can recommend. Hopefully we can get it to work for our door at some point, but I'm not holding my breath.
The screen is way too hard to read. You have to tap on it too many times to get the screen to wake up where you can barely see it in the light. Maybe it does better in the dark. I got the lock and tried to install it, but the mechanism in the inside was running backwards. Had to return it. I don't think you should have to go through so much to put a lock on your door. Those things should be tested before they ever leave the factory.
The item came used/broken so I could not install it. The mounting plate was stuck to the unit by a broken screw and it did not look new! This is not the first time this has happened with WM online purchase.
The touchscreen is horrible . You have to hit several times to wake it up to put in the code
Malfunctioning at its finest
