Regular chili has lots of fat, so not good when dieting to lose weight or planning meals as a diabetic. Was not sure how this would taste. It isn't the same as beef chili since obviously it has chicken. Fat is a lot lower. Could use a bit more chili flavor. Not heat, but more chili powder to make it more like chili instead of flavored chicken stew. This will replace the beef chili to give an edge in dieting. Don't expect it to replace your beef chili, but offer a different flavor and lower carb choice. The taste and texture was good, so I'll eat it again.
i add rinsed and drained can of navy beans sometimes a bit more leftover chicken and serve bowls of extra fixings on the table of wholly guacamole, sor crean, chopped red or green onion and gratten sharp cheddar or parmesan (its good for the kidneys ) the chili is very good on its own ! i just love sharing my tricks. YUM
This Is my FAVORITE chili they make!!! I love the green chili sauce(verde) and that it has chicken, not turkey!!
Love the taste, NOT TOO spicy, Thick . I think it needs the whole corn kernels. I am allergic to corn. But I have been eating it for yrs now and it doesn't seem to bother me. Of course I pick out the whole kernels before I consume it.
Such a terrific item to keep on hand for unexpected (or expected) guests! Why has this item been pulled from the shelves here in PA? Pleeeease come back
I am not a cheese fan. I ordered this online for a pick up order. I read the ingredients as best as I could but while there isn't cheese in it it has the flavor of having cheese, which I did not like. Others probably will. I had never bought it before and won't buy it again but that was totally due to my taste. I can't remember if it was cheaper than the chili I usually get but I did note that it was less calories which is why I bought it.
Sadly, didn't get to try. Whomever packed our box threw the cans in so hard one was deeply bent and the other got hot. Thinking it was from Walmart because the shipping box was undamaged. Either way, going to stick to going in store. There I can see what I am getting.
Me and husband thought this Hormel Chili with Beans, Chicken, and Lime would be a very nice change of pace... getting to try something new, and for 3.43 for EACH 15oz can it better taste great, right! So we opened the first can, emptied it into a bowl, and before heating it up I was cleaning out the can to get all of it out and put in with the rest of the soup in the bowl, and upon looking down in the can we could see it had splotches of black something. My husband took a couple pictures and then did a google image search. The results gave a warning of it could be mold or harmful bacteria and to throw it away and then sterilize all dishes and utensils which were in contact with the soup. So we threw it away and wasn't even interested in the second can of it and so threw it away too. Thanks Hormel, Thats some higher-priced soup you got us to pay for and to then for us to just have to throw it in the trash!
So Im trying this for the first time. I literally found maybe two beans and a few pieces of corn. What happened here ? It's pretty much just sauce. Might've been really good if they actually had some beans in it .I mean, I'm guessing I wouldn't know. definitely won't be buying this again.
This was Nasty with a capital N. It was slimy, too salty and no matter what I added to it (cheese, sour cream) it was not improved and I ate about 3 tablespoons and had to dispose of the rest. Unfortunately I bought a "2 pack". Not exactly sure what to do with the rest. Sure isn't edible.
