okay I go out with a lot of Italians and they don't like stuff in the can but this stuff gets their approval good garlic taste stays together when you saute well put together worth every penny
Excellent flavor. I love fire roasted every veggie. It just adds a lot of depth to recipes everywhere. From a family favorite pasta dish to a nice salsa. It's fantastic. We pick this brand n style of fire roasted every time. It's really good.
If you know someone in their 60's, they're old enough to remember Vegies in a can was all we had. Yes, Frozen wasn't for the general public yet. But now, it's gone! No more "metal taste", hanging out in the taste of everything. Hunt's has got it perfect! I thought a Tomato is a Tomato, but I tried the Fire Roasted. Wow, what a difference. A Rich, slightly smokey taste that enhanced any meal. (Even eating out of the can...I love tomatoes!). Never tough, or under ripe, always meaty, nicely diced.
Fire roasted tomatoes are so good for adding a bit of smoky flavor to whatever you're cooking. They're great in pasta sauces, soups, shakshuka, chili, you name it. I love to use them for my Spanish rice, along with chicken stock, carrots, onion, garlic and red peppers. These tomatoes are one of those pantry staples that I like to keep on hand.
The flavor of these fire roasted tomatoes add a lot to any food I’m using them in. The tomatoes chunks are nice size and just firm enough to not disappear while cooking. Have used in soups, casserole and Italian dishes.
Although diced, pieces were large enough to have decent chewiness. Tomatoes tasted fresh. Use this with freshly diced onion, parsley (instead of cilantro), lime juice, and a little salt to make pico de gallo. There is a variety with green chilis (jalapeno), but a bit more spicy than I and my family care for. If I want more spice, I can add some Louisiana hot sauce (not as vinegary tasting and sweeter than Tabasco sauce), but then my family doesn't like the heat, so I just add to my portion. A little higher priced than the store brand, but worth the added cost.
My can has a large dent at the bottom. I don't see or feel any moisture, but I am concerned it may not be good when I go to use it. I would never buy a can as dented as this one if I could shop in store for myself.
I usually get GV brand of this product, but this name brand was substituted on an order. There is no difference in quality at all. The product is indistinguishable from the store brand. It is a waste of money to buy this. Furthermore, the can requires a can opener whereas the store brand does not. The store brand opens like a soda can with a pull tab.
I thought this would add to my homemade tomato sauce, but it didn't do it thing. I thought you could taste the fire roasted tomatoes, but you really can't
I realized when I was putting my groceries away that the item delivered was Fire Roasted Tomatoe Sauce….i checked my ordered items and I actually ordered Fire Roasted Tomatoes… Can I get the 3 cans of Fire Roasted Tomatoes that I ordered?
