Easy to assemble and hook up, directions were simple yet not too vague. Installed on a 5500gal above ground saltwater pool. Works like charm! My water is always crystal clear. Definitely recommend, even for folks like me that have no clue what they are doing.
well its early to tell but it runs very smooth and quiet.i have to say im quite impressed with the overall engineering.i put an ample amount of hand torque on the fittings carefully seating as center as i could and pulled the valves with no leaks .thats never happened even with a Hayward.kudos intex.i certainly hope it lasts .very pleased 👏
Incredibly simple to install because I was replacing a similar unit. Two hose connections and we're off and running. The unit I was replacing was a cheap, apparently undersized unit and this Intex system is identical with one I had before the undersized one I mistakenly bought last year. This unit not only generates the necessary amount of chlorine but it is set up such that the cell plates can be replaced. That is not always true, ergo the last one I bought not only was not creating enough chlorine, it had a sealed cell plate that was not replaceable. The Intex system does a good job of monitoring the salt levels and reminding me when I need to add salt. Overall I highly recommend this system.
This is our third one of these and we wouldn't go any other way, we had to replace because we didn't do what we needed to do in the winter to protect it, every intention of taking the right steps this season and I think it'll last awhile
Easy to set up, works with my Sand filter and came with everything I needed, within 5 days my pool (14,300 gal) is and remains crystal clear - very happy with this.
salt VS chlorine WHY doesn't EVERYONE use a Salt water system? Saltwater pools are not a chlorine-free alternative; they are chlorine pools. The core difference is that traditional pools rely on manually added chemicals, while saltwater systems use a salt cell generator to continuously convert dissolved salt into chlorine via electrolysis!
The assembly instructions are abysmal. After struggling with constant leaks, I discovered that a part was missing. I contacted Intex, the rep was helpful, but didn't know how to explain the assembly. The missing part was shipped. Upon arrival, I reassembled the unit, only to find that another part was missing.
The system itself is great. Just hope this pump last longer than the original that came with the pool. That one only lasted two seasons. (12 hrs. A day 5 months per year.) stored in heated garage in the off season. Bearing on the fan side locked up. Buddies same system is 4 years old still going strong, hopefully this one lasts longer than the original. I will say this sand/salt system is far superior to the cartridge filter systems I've had in the past. Longevity experience is the reason for three stars.
i ordered a 15x48 above ground pool and they sent me a salt water filter. Are you kidding? Emails even say "your 15x48 above ground pool is on the way" and "your 15x48 above ground pool has been delivered " here is a photo of delivery.....1ftx1ft box....really.
I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with this purchase. The product was clearly listed and advertised as a complete 15ft x 48in pool set, including everything needed for setup. Instead, I received only a pump—no pool, no liner, no accessories, nothing else. This is not a minor mix-up; it is a complete failure to deliver the item I ordered and paid for. Having to now deal with the hassle of returning and wasting additional time and effort is ridiculous and unacceptable. The listing was misleading, and the fulfillment process appears to have zero quality control. This level of incompetence has turned what should have been a straightforward purchase into a major inconvenience. I expected better from a company selling major backyard items like this. Strongly advise others to double-check their order upon arrival and consider shopping elsewhere for pool equipment.
