I had to ask my DH his opinion in order to write this as he is the anchovy lover in our family :) I might like a few on pizza, but he will often open and enjoy an entire tin at lunchtime with a little chewy bread and butter. He loves sardines too (and salmon, smelt, etc.). I'm not sure where this fishy love came from because he's a former landlocked Ohio farm boy with all oceans far away. But I know all are very healthy for you so it's a good thing for him. I might be more enthused if they were chocolate covered - eh, probably not, *wrinkling nose* I take that back LOL.
You like ‘em. Nothing replaces anchovies! And I LIKE THEM! With most major pizza joints no-longer having anchovies as a topping, I like Dominos, gotta find another way to get them, and, maybe get them with some pizza. This is my new way. I'll probably save some to add to reheated pizza, the next time I order pizza the flavor I use to get with anchovies on, and see if/how that works for me. I have two(2) major styles of pizza, a sweet (with Honey BBQ Sauce instead marinara sauce, pineapple-ham-onion-jalapeños)(a maxed out Hawaiian), a meat-mushroom-onion-jalapeños (this I would get with anchovies), both with extra jalapeños as Pan-pizza. So, I'll save some for the latter of those.
Received the anchovies in a timely manner. However, still have not received the 2 boxes of 24 of the Nature Valley sweet %26 salty
Makes my pizza taste just right! Part of every Friday night dinner. Juice is also good when spread over the pie!
Unfortunately, these smelled really fishy when I opened them They tasted OK but not as good as the brand I usually buy. I tried these because they were what was on the shelf but I will search out Cento Brand from now on.
I have NOT used them yet, so am not able to give a plus or minus... They are an esoteric item and recipes that call for them are not served often.
I bought 3 cans, and all 3 cans had a very bad odor indicating the anchovies were spoiled. I had to throw them away. From the reviews it seems that I am not the only one who got spoiled anchovies from this bramd in Novemver 2024.
Unfortunately, the anchovies are extremely salty to the point of being inedible. I've previously enjoyed your sardines, which is why I decided to try the anchovies. Given the quality of your other products, I was surprised by how overly salty this item is.
Too salty. Wanted to use it to top unsalted rice bowls and it was WAY too salty for me. Unedible even though I love canned sardines, salmon, and tuna. Yes, I expected and wanted it salty, but this was gross.
A few days ago I found a can of anchovies on the shelf with a split in the top, and the oil was leaking out of the can. I took the leaking, can and handed it to an employee, showing them the leak and that there was a problem. they said they would dispose of it. That evening with your black friday specials.I found an item that I wanted to order. And I needed another two dollars to qualify for free shipping, so I added a can of anchovies and made an online order. For some reason, the online order system took that can of anchovies and changed it into a store pickup. When I went in to pick the pickup the item, I checked it and found that it was the same leaking can that I had turned in?That was supposed to be disposed of. I have attempted for 3 days to talk to the store manager and your employees have prevented me from doing so. This is terrible customer service!!!
