I love the ideal of cooking out and all you have to do is light it up.
Its self lighting and it's charcoal. pretty basic.
Works great and has no lighter fluid taste!
I purchased the charcoal last month. I carry a small tabletop grill in my vehicle and a bag of charcoal for when the mood strikes. My husband, children an grandchildren went on a spur of the moment fishing trip. With the grill an charcoal match light we were not only able to eat our fresh catch, we also fed homeless people. I was amazed at how fast and easy it was to light. I used about a dozen pieces an was able to cook for hours on just those few pieces. Then the kids went camping an at the last minute my husband and i decided to join them for a night. The match light charcoal after making dinner in a downpour was used to light the soaked campfire wood in the firepit to warm our chilled bones from the storm an dry our belongings. Not having to carry charcoal lighter fluid is a plus. The briquettes also gave the great flavor to all food cooked on the grill. Best part was making smores with the grandchildren an toasting marshmellows after a hardy meal. I have used the bag light charcoal in the past. From here on out its the match light charcoal all the way. At home I did a mix of the regular charcoal with some mesquite and the match light in the smoker. Winning combination. Match light to fire up the smoker, then mix of the other two to keep the smoker going. Awesome! I highly recommend purchasing for anyone that grills, bbq's, or smokes food. I am a person that cooks out doors all year round. Kingsford Match Light is a new permenant part of my cooking. Thanks Kingsford for a great product. Rose
These are great. No messy (smelly) lighter fluid that takes time and can ruin the taste of the food. They lit on one match and were quickly ready. No wasted time spreading and re-arranging coals. Makes for a better - more leisurely BBQ.
First, I'm a Kingsford Charcoal guy. I love their product. Unfortunately, I bought a double bag of Match Light and thought I upgraded to save time in getting the grill going; however, the charcoal just would not light. Had to resort to using a charcoal starter. Took way longer than it should. I wish I would have read the comments on here. Seems to be hit or miss if you get a good bag. Not really worth the risk for the money spent.
I can't imagine anyone trying to light this charcoal with a match. We tried a lighter, put paper in it, put paper towels in it, poured vodka on it, then finally drove to get lighter fluid, ended up pouring half a can on it and finally got it to light. The bag clearly says "do not use lighter fluid" I have no idea how you're supposed to light this without lighter fluid because even with it, it was a challenge. We used evrything we had and were starving by the time we got it to light. Total waste of money! (and time!)
My entire house smells like lighter fluid from the fumes set off by this charcoal. Our entire dinner tastes like lighter fluid. Our body's smell like it even after a shower. We had charcoals burning for 15 minutes before cooking also. I'd rate a 0/5 if I could. This was an absolutely horrible experience.
God awful! Don't waste you time or money! Use normal charcoal and lighter fluid. This product is an absolute joke!
Doesn't light and still have to use lighter fluid which is frustrating when paying more for the ones you aren't supposed to need lighter fluid for.
