KitchenAid 4.5-Qt. Coated Flat Beater, K45B

This is the 2nd replacement for this size beater. Sadly, it did the same thing the first one did. It is wearing at the bottom. It does not hit the bottom of the bowl and it is not used everyday for this kind of wear. We use a small rubber tipped spatula to remove any dough or batter that is left on the beater. We treat this beater as if it is made of glass.

I love the mixer but after 4 years the flat beater was full of chips. I called customer service and had to order another one. I had to pay full price.

I have had my Kitchen Aide mixer for a number of years and love everything about it EXCEPT the coated beater. I have replaced the beater twice, only hand wash it, and STILL the coating comes off and gets into the food. My brother found some in his mashed potatoes at a holiday gathering! It is difficult to find a replacement beater, as all of the ones in the stores are designed for newer model mixers. Please advise on how to remedy this problem.

I bought my third beater since having my mixer. I bought this last one almost a year ago and 6 months later, it started to chip. I never see the chips, so I pray everytime that they are not falling into my cookies and cakes. Yes, I do a lot of baking, but this paddle is disappointing. We only wash our dishes buy hand, so its not the dishwasher tearing it up. Going to the stainless steel option and hope that one is better. Its just ridiculous that it's SO expensive.

I bought the stand mixer on January 2026. I only used the flat beater twice and it's already chipped. Terrible accessories. Although I made sure the beater would not touch the bottom of the bowl by running it empty before adding any batters, after hand washed it, the bottom of the beater is still chipped. I was so excited when I bought it.

Very displeased. Unable to use, because the enamel keeps chipping off. And I don't want someone to bite/eat a piece. I expected higher quality, considering what mixer cost me. My whip and dough hook are fine.

I have had my Kitchen Aid for many years and have loved it. I have had to replace the beater 3 times due to chipped paint. I am furious to learn that the paint used may have had lead in it. I have fed my 6 children the food made in this mixer their whole lives. I am more than mad. In this day and age this should NEVER happen.

I have used this less than 10 times and it started flaking off. Is there something available that is all stainless steel?

Cannot believe that the beater is made of metal & stripping. I cut myself washing it!

I use my mixer a lot and really like it. The beater is another matter. The mixer has been in storage a long while because we moved house twice and didn't have room. I was very excited to start using it about 6 months ago. Bit by bit there have been “bits” of plastic falling off the beater. Yesterday a 1/2” chunk came off in my pound cake. now it's unusable.
