I ordered this stand mixer at the end of January, and it works perfectly. The only feedback I have is regarding the logo. For as much I paid for this, the logo keeps popping out when using my mixer
I had a 6 qt KitchenAid mixer that lasted me for over 35 years of heavy use so this time I bought the 8 qt 500 watt commercial mixer without the guard and it saw heavy use for the last two months. I am really happy with it as it is way more powerful than the 6 qt mixer and holds more dough. I make bars which fill two 9x13" pans in one batch. Once baked and removed from pans the two uncut bars weigh 12.5 to 12.8 total pounds before shipping.
OMG! I purchased the commercial 8-quart stand mixer in August but did not get to use it until December! It purred and whizzed around mixing to perfection a long-standing family cookie recipe of Cherry Winks. I am beyond thrilled with this mixer and looking forward to getting a few attachments for it too.
I purchased this mixer just before Christmas because I was needing a larger capacity bowl for my baking. I have had KitchenAid mixers since the late 1980's, and also have a Hobart 20 qt mixer from 1988. Before purchasing this model, I was using two 6 qt machines. I must say that this new model is much more quieter and sturdier than the previous kitchenAids that I have. The larger capacity bowl is perfect for making smaller batches of dough. This will be my go-to mixer when the Hobart 20 qt is overkill.
I bought this Commercial Series 8 Mixer out of necessity when mine all quit working at once (quite the week in my home bakery!) This mixer has been a blessing in disguise. The bowl size holds so much more and cuts my prep time down tremendously! It is also surprisingly quiet!! I sometimes even forget its running when I run across the house to start some dish water or check the oven because of just how quiet it is!
My previous mixer was a 50 year old KitchenAid K5A which is still running, but my family convinced me that I deserved a new one. I decided that new replacement should be at least as good as the old one, so upgraded to the Commercial series. I am happy that I did. The capacity is larger and the motor probably stronger, but I haven't tried to push it yet. Weekly bread making is always fun. Next up, pasta. For those that do not have the pasta attachment, I highly recommend it. I am enjoying fresh pasta out of the freezer and love it!
I am in love! Mixed a double batch of bread dough with ease :) Can't wait to double all the cookie dough! This is my third KitchenAid stand mixer. I have two 4.5 qt mixers, one of which is 31 years old and still going strong. This 8qt though! It just has power written all over it. I am thrilled to have it in my lineup
I bought this after burning out my old KA making bread. The attachments for this are stellar and my bread dough is coming out softer than ever. It's extremely quiet while being strong with heavy loads. Moving it isn't a chore as it's fairly light. Overall highly recommend to anyone making professional level bread or large batches of dough and such that can put a load on smaller machines.
I am a professional baker and I am using this mixer to make batches of croissant and brioche doughs. I am tough on mixers and so far this machine has held it's own. I am achieving proper dough development without overworking the dough as I have in the past with smaller machines. I am very pleased.
We purchased 2 of these stand mixers. After much research on stand mixers, we decided to go with this brand and model vs Hobart. One of the mixers is currently running great. The other arrived in what seemed to be ok condition, however made a clanking noise which we thought was the beater hitting the bowl. Did the adjustment, but still heard the noise. Soon after the mixer started to get louder, and so we tested it without the attachments and found that there was definitely something wrong. We are in the process of sending it back. We are really hard on our equipment and this is a real acid test. All in all we are satisfied with the product. At least for now.
