La Crosse 705-109 Waterfall Rain Gauge

Simple, accurate. Last one went 6 years until we had a freeze that froze water and cracked. We live in north Florida and so the limited capacity is problematic as we routinely get 7~10" in one event (26" +/- every 10 years or so). I want this unit to max out at 8~10"

Bought this rain gauge for ourselves and a friend's birthday. It is so perfect as it is screwed on the deck's rail and can be seen from our living room. A very simple, efficient and useful item which we highly recommend. Of course we'd take it in for the Wisconsin winters to prevent freezing. Thank you for offering this product.

I installed the rain gauge on my deck railing as soon as I received it. It was easy to put up, though the tiny screws were a bit of a problem. It would help if the screws were a bit larger. It is very easy to read the water level because of the red marker insert and easy to empty the water. I highly recommend the Waterfall Rain Gauge!

I really like this rain gauge because it is very easy to see how much rainfall there is from indoors. I hope this one lasts. Previously bought this 2 years ago but the plastic developed a small crack in the bottom and no longer held the rain.

I did not put up right away because it gave 2 screws to anchor to a wood fence, but I have vinyl. Finally, I took some white electrical tape to secure to my fence. So easy to read and install and empty. Great purchase!

This may be the best design I've seen for a rain gauge, and over the years I've bought and made over 15 gauges! It well made, but more importantly it's easy to read.

I would give this item 5 stars if it came in black. Mine is white and is mounted on black deck rails as the one in the above picture. It came with 2 mounting screws which is fine for folks with wood rails but with metal rails it is not the smartest move allowing water to get into the metal. I took a different route. I glued magnets under the mount and its level and works well and easy to read from a distance

This is a great idea -- able to see the gauge at a distance. It worked great for a few months, but the red indicator faded and the ability to read the level was hindered. I painted the indicator but it lost the floatability. Great idea but needs a bit tweeking.

It arrived and it was cracked. What do you do now???
