this Lee single stage press works flawlessly, but there is no place for spent primers to go except inside the press you have to remove the press from the bench to empty which eliminates the purpose I purchased it for so it will step up to other duty's shoot reload shoot Again!
This press, being a c press instead of an o press is not as strong as many available. It holds a niche for beginners who aren't sure if they will like reloading and want to try; it also works well as an auxiliary press for secondary tasks. Most reloaders will have a couple of these for trimming, or primer pockets, or decapping. This press requires extra work to use it for decapping, as it does not have a catch receptical.
Great value for you $$$ item was shipped fast.
I use this to decap only and it saves me changing dies on my other presses just to decap the cases. The decapper from Lee fits almost all my cases so I just put on the correct shell holder and go for it. Economical and fast. By the way, it is strong enough to full length some of my large rifle rounds also.
I use my press to resize and deprime brass cases. It is an aluminum bodied press with a steel ram and work smoothly. Just remember to oil the ram lightly from time to time to keep it operating properly. I also suggest that you use washers on the three bolts that secure the press to your bench or board in order to spread out the pressure as some have reported the press can develop cracks at the holes otherwise.. I attached the press to a 1 inch thick pine board then I attach the board to the bench with c clamps so I can remove it and store when not in use. The only thing that seems to jam up is the primer exit hole in the ram. I spray WD-40 in the cavity to keep the primers dropping out the hole.
I purchased the Lee Precision Reloader press to accommodate my bullet seating and crimping of pistol / revolver cartridges. Nice little press that gets the job done. I use this press along with my other single stage press's. The open design makes it easier to hold and align a bullet while seating. This press fills a niche that my "O" frame and Forster "yoke" press just couldn't do. Complements my reloading setup quite nicely. Lee makes a very good product for the beginner, intermediate or advanced re-loaders needs. Best price anywhere with free in store pick-up.
I got this to trim case's as the brass shaving messed up my other press. Also use it to size powder coated boolets
Purchased this as a secondary press. Usually forget a step after a die is on my main press so instead of removing the die, just go to this press. Solid enough to reload with if needed. Solid construction.
I already have a Lee 3 hole turret press that is the cats-meow. I picked this up as a dedicated press with a bullet puller die.
I ordered this because I thought it did not use the expensive Lee breechlock bushings as the current picture shows a press that does not require them. It does require them and only comes with one. They are only sold in sets of 2 and cost around $10. Add about $10 to the cost for the first set of dies and $20 to the next set. I am currently using it with the single bushing it came with but it is not easy to do any adjustment to the die as the bushing releases and and the whole unit comes out of the press. I'm going to apply red loctite to the bushing and see if I can get it permanently mounted in the press. If that fails I'll try adding a set screw from there the next stop is the trash. It works great and is a quality product but with the price of the bushings you may as well buy a more expensive press that does not use them the cost of the bushings very quickly adds up.
