In terms of the finished article, this Batmobile exceeds any other large scale bat vehicle in playability. It's not the most aesthetically pleasing of the bat-transports, but with all its functionality it's on par with the 89 model with being as much fun to play with rather than simply being an ornament. The light bricks are a nice touch, and although the muscle car premise of the vehicle lacks the creative designs of the Burton films, it's a beautifully scaled set (not quite to scale with the other large Batman vehicles as it's physically the same size as the recent Tumbler) that sits nicely with other batmobiles. The build itself is good fun, seeing all the moving parts coming together- especially for someone who hasn't built Technic in nearly 30 years!
Yes its missing some functions like suspension but overall as a technic set it fits the bill. It looks fairly close to the real thing which itself is a made up vehicle so its dimensions are a challenge to replicate. Instructions could be clearer on some steps but with a tiny bit of back tracking from the next step easily fixed. Weird to have so many stages but i actually preferred in the end. Light blocks are a nice touch especially with the clear engine pieces, not sure why the flames are blue though as we've not seen the film yet. Built properly the set is very sturdy and strong so not too sure what some people are complaining about
This was my first ever technic build. I love the design, the features, moving pistons within the engine block and that it was a real pleasure from start to finish. I'd not been swayed towards technic until this was released as it was great to compliment the Tumbler. I have now picked up Ecto-1 and Dom's Charger so a movie vehicle theme may have started.
I am blown away by this incredible Batmobile set. At first I was hesitant to purchase it since its all in plain black colors but after building it and looking at the final product I was very happy. Totally worth the money. I would recommend this toy to anyone. The light gimmicks are amazing. Really fun set to build. Took me around 5 hours in total but well worth it.
Not going to bore you with to much detail about the set as its probably already been covered by others here or on lego fan sites. For me I generally only collect the movie themed side of Lego so this has never been Technic orientated. I however found myself throughly enjoying the build and was quite impressed with the inner workings of the vehicle and the light bricks. (yes I'm easily pleased with a couple of lights!) My wife thought for the price that Robert Pattinson should've been included (I think she meant the actual Robert Pattison and not a minifigure.) Maybe a stand, name plate would've been a nice extra touch. Still for me I love it. It looks awesome and I think I'll be venturing towards some more Technic builds in the future.
Excellent build and the light bricks bring the set to life a perfect set to add to the other Batmobiles in my collection and a must have for any batman fan
This is only my second build so I'm still very inexperienced. As with the McLaren F1, the instructions are a bit confusing at some points. I took a chunk of it apart thinking I'd messed something up but it turned out that the instructions weren't entirely clear as to where I was supposed to fit it. Placing the steering wheel assembly was a bit tricky and there were a couple of other times where something would pop off just as you got it into place but to be fair it would be a bit boring if it all just slotted in perfectly. Only three stickers which is a bonus IMHO, and they are all on the dashboard so not really required anyway. The gimmicks are pretty cool, lights, moving engine pistons and steering. Doesn't really look like the real thing but close enough. There's nothing more disappointing than thinking a piece is missing and nothing more pleasing than realising you just hadn't noticed it because it was connected to something else or just hiding. This was a lot of fun to build and I'm totally hooked, two smaller ones were just delivered so I'll be busy for the next few days. :)
This is the first ever Technic Batman and is an interesting build to it. Far from complex, but mostly the play functions are excellent and add some fun and interactivity with the inclusion of lights. However, there seems to be a rushed element in design as with the front light activation is awkward and the headlights illumination would have been welcome. The front end illumination is not that good compared to the rear with the use of transparent engine blocks and does look great. The differential is a solid build piece, but there is no suspension. A minor disappointment is the use of stickers for the panel. I modified the instrument panel an added printed bricks. (see photo). The front grill has a good menacing look to it but the front wheel fenders has unsightly gaps. Even though based on the new movie, it doesn't scream 'Batman' yet, more like the Fast and Furious type with lights and flames. I wish there was more thought put in to it but overall, still not a bad set for the price point.
I purchased this kit for the purpose of building an alternative build I'm not into Batman but I do like old muscle cars so I built a corvette stingray , sorry Lego hope you don't mind. Please please design more cars for technics, like a Dodge Challenger or a camero ss hmmm wishful thinking.
It was so much fun making this batmobile lego. However the quality of the lego bricks are not as good as past since you could see the curves and waves on surfaces. Anyway i really liked this batmobile since I'm a batman and lego fan. Wish you like the photos.
