Mainstays 8-Ounce Outside Pillar Citronella Candles, Off-White (2-Pack)

I receive the Mainstays 8-Ounce, 2-Pack Outdoor Citronella Pillar Candles from the spark reviewer program. The first thing I notice was the smell. Before I opened the shipping box, I could smell the fragrance. These 8 ounce candles are about the size of a 12 ounce can of soda. The wick is firmly attached and it did not break off rendering the candle useless for lighting. Since the smell is very strong, within the first fifteen minutes of lighting the candle it was doing its job. In the south the bugs are disrespectful, and you need something powerful so you aren’t eaten alive! I will happily announce this candle works! There was no bug-biting going on after this candle was set ablaze. The smell adds a pleasant aroma to the atmosphere. The smell of the candle complimented the food smells like music ads to a conversation. I have used other candles that are supposed to do the same thing but this one outperform the others.! Here is a picture of the candle after I burned it for about 3 hours. To give you an idea of how much depreciation has taken place during this burntime.

The quality was a ok and the size seemed a bit small. Other than that I am very satisfied with the experience.

These are a nice size, I either find the small ones or the large ones in the metal tins. These are a nice size for a table and look nice on their own. I have not had a chance to put them to use but they had a nice citronella smell when I received them. A few weeks later that smell has diminished so they won't be a bother to store when not in use. They are light so I can't say how long they will last but overall, I am happy with them.

These candles work but should be used outside the smell of Citronella is loud but pleasant and I enjoyed burning both candles I placed both of them in my favorite candle holders outside on my patio table. The best part about these candles they burn slow and they have a natural citronella smell. Love It!

The Mainstays 8-Ounce, 2-Pack Outdoor Citronella Pillar Candles are working great at repelling mosquitos and other biting insects that are out and about tormenting me while I am outside on my deck or in my garage. I like how they burn, which is right down the center with the wick. I see these candles lasting a considerable amount of time. I really do like the citronella scent as well. It's not overpowering or heavy. Apparently the mosquitos don't like it though, which is fine by me!

When the package arrived I already knew what was inside! The package was securely wrapped, with bubble wrap and I don't think there's enough packaging that could mask the smell of these. That tells me even without burning mosquitoes will at least think twice before coming near! It's not quite mosquito season where I am yet, however having these on hand and already set up will be a life saver this summer. Mosquito bites tend to scar on me, so I need all the help I can get to keep them away. I wanted to see how long these would burn for and after two hours I turned it off. Plenty of time to enjoy the outdoors without being bothered by those pesky blood suckers! Having one of these on both sides of my 9x9 back deck should be a good enough perimeter to keep the mosquitoes away. Will be purchasing some holders from Walmart to prevent the wind from blowing them out.

These candles SMELL!!! I could smell them through the packaging; which was very well done with lots of bubble wrap and not damaged at all. They are a nice size at 4 inches tall and 3 inches wide. As far as I can tell over the last few days, they have burned pretty slow so I expect them to last a while. I love the smell of citronella, so they are very appealing to me. I placed these candle right outside my back & front doors where I am having an issue with mosquitos coming in the house. This method has been working well. I have not noticed any mosquitos inside the house the past few days.

This candle was purchased to use on my apartment balcony to deter flying insects, preferably mosquitos. Weather is still a bit cool so time will tell. I thought it would also deter wasps and bees but it did not deter the wasp. It flew right onto the jar it was placed in which was puzzling. Research stated the wasp was also attracted to the light. So I purchased one of those fake wasp nests which worked right away. As far as the bees are concerned, did not have the candle lit when they appeared so not sure; in any case sprayed tea tree oil where I saw it hovering. Haven't seen any since.

Living around wooded areas,i was always getting chewed up by Mosquitoes and I was looking for something that was longer lasting and didn’t smell funny ,i came across the Mainstrays 8-ounce 2-pack outdoor citronella pliant candles they were pretty big and round but not to big and smelled great ,easy to keep light and use on my back deck patio during the evening when I like to sit out and have a glass of wine and read my book ,keep the little nast bugs away .and what was nice is the Mainstays outdoor citronella pillar candles came in a 2-pack so they should last a while.i do suggest putting the candle on a plate or something as wax can drip down

One of them was white, and one of them had a yellow tint to it, like it was an old yellow.
