Okay so as you can see by the picture it is not installed yet and that is because as I went to change out my $100 one for my garage sink I found that there was a lot of rot so proceeded to tear that cabinet out and made a new one but am waiting for top to come in (2 days late). I did hook it up and tested it and it works great and have decided that I am tired of spending 1-150 every 2 years on more expensive ones as that leak. This thing is just a lightweight inexpensive faucet that works and I realized that in the past I always put cheaper stuff out there and only had issues every 5-6 years and can only assume it's because of extreme temp changes affecting the metals. This faucet is smoother than my old fancy named one. Using my brains now instead of money.
Easy to install and quick delivery
Okay this faucet is good for new home construction or use for a replacement faucet. Either way this faucet is made with good quality material. This is a good buy.
When I first opened the box, I saw the nice shiny new faucet and was excited to replace my old faucet...then I noticed there were no plumbing fittings. The fact I had to go out and buy fittings to connect the existing water lines before I could use the new faucet was a bit discouraging. Once I purchased the needed fittings, the faucet installed quickly. I really liked the fact that valves went from closed to full on, in just a 1/2 turn of the handle. The faucet looks and is working great now, but because it is all plastic, time will tell how durable it is. This is a good faucet if you are on a budget
This Dual Handle Kitchen Faucet from Mainstays could be a real straight forward installation if you are comfortable working under a sink and on your back. And you have the necessary tools that Mainstays recommends having for this job. Before starting the job of installing this Dual Handle Kitchen Faucet their are a couple of things you want to take note of. This faucet is designed for a three hole sink and it does not come with hoses. So make sure that the sink you're planning to install this faucet on does not have more than three holes and the hoses that are going to be used are long enough and the hose ends are the correct size required to make the connections. If you are not confident with doing the work that's required to install this faucet, I recommend getting a plumber. This faucet is not made of metal but it has a chrome finish and clear acrylic handles.
Mainstays has always been a good product line. I love their economic faucets because they hold up. This product came when I had to replace the faucet in my kitchen sink. Overall very easy to replace any couldn't beat the price.
This actually came up to order at the perfect time. My kitchen developed a medium leak 2 days before, and I ordered immediately. I've had help uninstalling and installing the new one. It only took us about 45 minutes total! It works great and is sturdy and asthecially pleasing to look at. I would recommend this faucet to anyone. I came early by about 3-4 weeks. Great product
I was sent a Mainstays Dual Handle 8" Chrome Finish Kitchen Faucet with acrylic handles to install, use and review. In the description sent to me, all it said was that it was a dual handle kitchen faucet with chrome finish. I thought I would put it in my sister's home since she just bought an old farm house and had it moved to her property. When I received the box I thought they forgot to put the faucet in the box; it was so light weight I thought it was empty. I opened the box and the faucet was in there and it looked nice. I picked it up and was expecting metal since it said chrome finish; just me I guess. I am a big metal person. Everything was made of metal when I was growing up. Things lasted forever. When I built my own house I piped it with copper pipes and had all metal faucets throughout the house. When you have five kids, they abuse the faucets, so you want good quality metal faucets. I inspected this faucet and completely disassembled it. The only metal in the whole faucet is the two screws that hold on the acrylic handles. The whole unit is completely plastic; it is very flimsy. The spout can be twisted and it feels like it will break in your hands. The water pipe between the valves is a very thin plastic pipe. I figure it will crack in a short time. It says Lifetime Limited Warranty, but does not say what it covers. It says you must call their 800 number to find out. I could not put this in my sister's house and I would not have it in mine. I did use it and it is functional; I just don't know for how long. I put it in my old camper I have on the back of the property where I hunt deer and hogs. We will see how it holds up with little use. I do not endorse this product.
This product was received as part of the Walmart spark program for review. I had hoped to replace a faucet with this product in a kitchen sink. The fixture and all pipes are entirely plastic and the body is quite flimsy. The pipes underneath look acceptable but the body of the faucet is cheap with a plastic "chrome" coating. My husband refused to waste his time on installation and I can see that the chrome coating would not stand up to harsh cleaners. The knobs have a difficult feel to open/close that I would not want to fight with wet or greasy hands. I doubt it could tolerate being banged with a heavy pan or pot. If I had to pay a plumber to install this- it would be a waste of resources and I doubt he/she would bother. Very disappointing....... Might be ok for a toy kitchen for a child.........not for a real functioning kitchen...........
easy set up
