This chipotle chile pepper has a noticeably premium taste and quality that stands out right away. The smoky depth adds real character without overpowering a dish. I've used it across everything from meats to roasted vegetables and it consistently hits. Highly recommend if you want to upgrade your spice rack.
We make a LOT of Mexican/latin based dishes in my home and the chipotle chile powder has earned its spot in my cabinet. I used it both by itself and in replacement of regular chile powder and it always adds such a punch of flavor. There's also been specific recipes I have wanted to try but never had chipotle peppers on hand and now I'll be able to try them all. wonderful product.
I'm actually obsessed with this chipotle chile pepper seasoning. It has the perfect flavor with just enough heat. I've been putting it on everything… eggs, chicken, roasted veggies, even avocado toast and it just makes everything taste better. What I like most is that it adds that "something extra" without needing a ton of other spices. Super easy, super flavorful. If you like a little kick and that smoky vibe, you'll love this.
This is an awesome new way to add a smoky kick to your recipes! I used this in a butternut squash soup that I usually add a little cayenne pepper and smoked paprika to. This feels like a combination of both, but the smoky chipotle flavor is nicer than a plain smoked paprika. It does have a kick to it, though, so use it sparingly (not like chili powder - more like a cayenne kick!) McCormick Gourmet kindly provided me with this ground Chipotle Chili Pepper for free in exchange for a fair. I will definitely purchase it again if I ever see it on a store shelf. Solid pantry staple!
I really like the McCormick Chipotle Chile Pepper. I use a lot of chile pepper in my recipes and have never seen a chipotle chile pepper. This spice adds a wonderful Smokey depth to my dishes. The biggest flavor wow, was in my taco seasoning. It just went a couple of steps beyond the typical chile pepper. Have you ever had a Chipotle beef taco? You've got to try it! This was also a great addition to the recipe I use for chicken thighs. It definitely elevates the taste with that Smokey goodness and the mild spicy flavor. There are so many things you can make with this. I've tried the tacos, chicken thighs, and a pot roast so far. Every dish was just a little bit better than usual with the Chipotle Chile Pepper spice. You should definitely give it a try; you won't be disappointed!
I spiced up my typical taco meat spice blend to also add in some chipotle chile spice. While I want expecting much, it was noticeable as there was a bit more depth to the meat. It had a little heat kick that was just enough. Now I just need to add it to my recipe for Taco seasoning I make going forward. I'm going to have to add this to other dishes where I want some chipotle flavor.
If you are looking to cut back on take-out this is a spice you want to add to your kitchen. It is perfect to add it to ground beef, chicken and pork for an easy and flavor meal like a burrito bowl or a taco. You can also use it on vegetables. I love to add it to shrimp as well. I also appreciate the spice comes in a glass jar.
I wasn't sure what to expect with the McCormick gourmet chipotle pepper. I must admit I was pleasantly surprised! I love to cook and I use chipotle quite often for its smokiness. I always use quality spices and am happy to say this McCormick ranks right up there. I did a side by side with McCormick and my other brand of choice. The only distinguishing difference was color. As far as flavor and heat, they were the same. That's saying something. Ingredients truly do matter. I'd love to see McCormick roll out more gourmet spices that are pure and tasty. Back to basics. I'm all about the MAHA movement.
This spice is everything you'd expect a gourmet spice to be. It is earthy and rich in all the best ways. I received this spice as a product sample to review and I've tried it on 3 dishes so far to make sure I'm correct when I say it's the best addition to each dish I've added it to. It boosts the flavor profile to a perfect height. It is t overpowering or tongue torching and it does not leave a bad aftertaste like other chipotle Chile spices I've tried in the past. So far my favorite thing I've added it to was Alfredo chicken and fettuccine! I recommend 10/10
I've been using McCormick Chipotle Chili Pepper in my kitchen lately and listen… it does not miss. The flavor is smoky, warm, and just bold enough without overpowering the dish. I sprinkled it into my creole and southern cooking (gumbo, shrimp, even some seasoned veggies), and it gave everything that slow-cooked, deep flavor like it's been simmering all day. What I like most is that it adds heat with personality — not just spicy for no reason. It blends right in with my seasonings and makes the whole pot taste richer and more layered. Definitely one of those quiet staples you keep in the cabinet and reach for more than you expected. If you cook creole or southern food, this one is worth keeping on deck.
