I love cinnamon and go through it like crazy. There aren't many kinds I don't like. If a recipe calls for 1 tsp, I put 2 tsp. It's my favorite spice. This particular McCormick type isn't all that strong but it gives a very pleasant overall spice taste to whatever you use it for.
McCormick Kosher Ground Cinnamon, Is My Favorite Cinnamon To Buy. I Love The Way It Tastes, and I Like That You Can Buy It In Different Size Jars. I Use Alot Of Cinnamon, In Everything When Cooking,From Oatmeal And Rice Pudding To Some Of The Special Sauce's That I Prepare. I Also Like To Use It In The Winter Months Around The Holidays To Make A Nice Smelling Potpourri That I Summer On The Stove Top. I Absolutely Love The McCormick Brand. I Highly Recommend McCormick Cinnamon It Really Is The Best. And I Try To Never Want To Be Without It .
Mccormick, from my experience, has the best spices. I'm sure there are better outside of my small world, but the brand is generally my go-to. I needed Cinnamon last week and my partner who really has no experience with buying spices other than salt and pepper (and yes, there are differences between brands when it comes to something as simple as salt and pepper) picked up the Stop and Shop brand of Cinnamon. Totally my fault for not being specific. When I say it was no different than ground dirt or your run of the mill tree bark found on any street in America as opposed to the genuine Cinnamomum verum tree found in Myanmar or Sri Lanka. I have no clue how their brand spice buyers thought it was good. I felt bad that I will never use it, so I used a tiny bit, holding back the gag, so he would think I was happy with his shopping pick. The next day I searched Mccormick Cinnamon on Walmart and was very pleased to find a 4 pack for $11.08. I have recently been trying to eat better in the hopes of staying away from junk and losing some weight, so I make overnight oats with apples, Cinnamon and fat free milk. If you take the time to place the chopped tiny slices of apple, sprinkle them with Cinnamon and bake them on low heat for quite a while to dry them, they really are so much more tasty than just tossing them in. The liquid pulls the flavor out of fresh apples and being that it is cold the apples do not absorb any of the Cinnamon flavor for some reason. Anyway the whole point is Mccormick is definitely my choice and for the price, a fantastic value 👍
All tgese years ive bought store brands cinnamon and didn't really think there was a difference, i was wrong. I was making snickerdoodles was supposed to add 1 Tbs cinnamon to 1/3 cup sugar, it was too much, and had to add more sugar but the cheap stuff would have worked as recipe called for. This definitely good quality cinnamon and worth the price, you use less than you would of the cheap stuff
I wanted to get a quality cinnamon I used it in a lot of various different ways, in my tea, in my coffee, in my oatmeal, and my yogurt, great taste doesn't take up in the bottle and stick together it's a quality cinnamon a little expensive but it's worth it.
I usually expect McCormick to have a higher quality product, unfortunately not this time. The plastic safety seal was messed up, missing under the lid. There was no ease in opening however because the seal was under the lid. I tried knives, scissors and finally a box cutter razor to open the jar. Makes me wonder if I ever want to try it again in the future and I use cinnamon everyday.
The packaging, permeating to the cinnamon, smells strongly of acrid chemical. I had this experience a few months ago, but thought it could've been a fluke with the new plastic packaging because McCormick brand has been so reliable over the years. This is the second time I've purchased cinnamon in the new plastic packaging and it still reeks of chemicals. I've returned the product and hope McCormick reads this review and figures out the “taste you trust” cannot smell like this and expect to keep customers.
Is there a trick to opening this freaking thing?? I have tore my hands up trying to open it and my husband can't even open it. I can't tear it apart cuz I don't have anything to put it in when I'm done cutting the lid off. I've seen other people complain about this, as well. It's one of the most expensive brands, and it's the one with the poorest product. If I pay your price, I should be able to open it with ease. What's the deal, McCormick?? I should have gotten Walmarts generic brand. 🙄😡
This is the second time this has happened with one of McCormick's spices. I will not use their products again. The lid does not, come off to get to the paper seal! If a cut were to happen to certain people, it would be a dangerous situation. Be careful with their product or hae someone help you.
When a company changes a product they call by name X and applies a long standing name to a cheaper product and starts calling it X.. I consider it to be theft and misrepresentation cause it is Not.. the Real Thing. Yet this has been going on for decades with so many things. For instance, even U.S. is not the same as US. but they pretend otherwise. I blame our broken corrupt governmental system occupied by an unlawful monopoly of lawyers.. Clearly they fail us when they allow this to occur and when they allow so many other wrongs. Anyway - It - Turns out that this is not the same Cinnamon that I grew up knowing and smelling throughout the malls of America that were filled with that deep wonderful scent of old fashioned frosting filled giant Cinnamon rolls. Few could resist that wonderful smell and the sweet tasty flavor or wonderful buzz you got via eating just a corner of one of those wonderfully made rolls. I started craving cinnamon recently. and was not satisfied with either my at home or Pillsbury's versions. My taste-buds have tremendous memory and THEY KNEW THAT THE AT HOME CINNAMON TOAST %26 PILLSBURY WERE NOT UP TO PAR.. It didn't just taste funny.. TURNS OUT THAT WASN'T MOM'S OR OUR FAVORITE CINNAMON as was in Mall Rolls. It's a cheap copy of a similar product THAT CHEATS US OF FLAVOR BUT ACTS SECRETLY AS A BLOOD THINNER - JUST LIKE THOSE PILLS MOM TOOK WHEN OLDER. So.. if you found these aren't as good, . I am guessing the Universe felt you needed blood thinner more than you needed flavor As it turns out you can probably just use both and know your body is protected. . Still - . I consider it a violation of trust when a company does this to us..We WANT THE ORIGINALS!! NOT THE BAD COPY. But in the meantime - if this is how the Universe makes sure we get all that we need., then I guess I should be thankful and consider myself blessed. Still, I am wondering how it is that the blood thinner - Coumadin requires warning labels (not to take too much or you will bleed too much) But that this fake cinnamon copy cat doesn't have the same warnings.. Especially given your left so unsatisfied with this version; and could be tricked into consuming more... to get that feeling. Seems like our body may protect us via what we crave and want vs need to eat?? How cool is that - if true!! . I guess I am both blessed and humorously annoyed my craving for the Real Thing.. Isn't Satisfied... and I am forced to purchase the Real Thing..-Saigon style. Mc Cormick sold it as Cinnamon for decades -then baited/switched. - That was SAIGON Cinnamon- who know?? A name of War %26 childhood wrongs - VIETNAM still affects us ((i.e. names). Universe is speaking -share hidden truths? I will give the matter attention - how names, are written, false authority's over name %26 inform dejure secretary of S - I was never lost at sea, nor ever consented to concealed contracts.. and claim all time, all labors, debt/receipts for set off %26 also damages.
