This is one of those simple ingredients that makes real food taste so much better. McCormick’s Smoked Paprika has a warm, smoky flavor that reminds me of a clean BBQ-chip taste—but without anything artificial or heavy. It’s not spicy, just smooth and rich. I use it all the time on sheet pan meals—potatoes, chicken, even roasted vegetables—and it instantly adds depth, color, and that “something special” flavor. It’s one of the reasons simple meals don’t feel boring. What I love: • Reliable flavor every time • Not overpowering—easy to use • Makes healthy food taste craveable • Beautiful color on everything If you’re cooking with real ingredients and want that extra boost without complicated recipes, this is an easy staple. One of those spices that quietly does a lot of work. I always keep it on hand.
Opening the bottle of McCormick® Smoked Paprika, I was met with a rich, warm, inviting aroma. The incoming flavor profile was wickedly complex. The fore flavor contains a sharp, woody, and smoky punch, followed by the distinct fruity sweetness of dried pimiento. As those top notes fade, the transition brings a secondary wave of earthy, bittersweet flavors, grounding the spice in deep umami. It then finishes with a lingering, rich warmth in the throat and a savory, roasted depth on the palate. It's here the smokiness finds that exact sweet spot, boldly present yet never overpowering the food. I used the smoked paprika to finish off my world-famous deviled eggs, and the visual contrast was stunning. The dark mahogany dusted across the bright yellow and white created such an appetizing ensemble that they disappeared within minutes, garnering rave reviews from my family. I would highly recommend this to any serious home cook looking for a smoky little secret.
I recently had to make two dozen deviled eggs for a family gathering. I finished them off with a generous sprinkling of McCormick's Smoked Paprika. Not only did they look good, they tasted amazing with the slightly smoky paprika flavor. McCormick spices never disappoint! I look forward to using it in other dishes.
I received a sample of McCormick Smoked Paprika to review. We use McCormick smoked paprika to flavor up our dishes and spice rubs. We use it in all of our rubs we make for chicken, beef and pork to put on our smoker. I adds a depth that paprika can not. It's our go to for making our American goulash recipe and adds a bit of smokiness that balances out the other spices. Our favorite is to use a pinch to dust or top our bacon horseradish deviled eggs. The McCormick name and brand is a quality and trusted brand we prefer over others to make our recipes with. The consistency of their flavors and spices make every dish or dessert complete. We will continue to purchase all of their spices and extracts.
First things first McCormick kindly gave me this Smoked Paprika, 1.75 oz for free so that I could review it. Not that it matters as the flavor is excellent. When you first take a bite into the food you are seasoning you will have a smokey opening. The best I can describe is like a bacon flavor when paired with deviled eggs. As you continue to eat it slowly blends into a nice finish that leaves and does not overpower the food. I recommend this as an alternative if you want to give a little smokey bacon finish when using it as a seasoning.
I grew up eating many foods seasoned with Paprika as my parents are eastern European, and Paprika is an often used spice in my home. This McCormick Smoked Paprika has been great in all my usual recipes, potatoes, chicken paprikash, and deviled eggs just to name a few. I always appreciate a spice container with a lid that makes it easy to shake out the spices. And the taste is great, smoky and peppery without too much spice.
McCormick Smoked Paprika adds so much flavor to everyday cooking. It has a rich smoky taste that works perfectly in meats, potatoes, veggies, chili, and even pasta dishes. I love that it gives food that homemade comfort food flavor without needing a ton of seasoning. The quality is always consistent and a little sprinkle goes a long way. Definitely one of my must-have spices.
I used my sample of McCormick Smoked Paprika in my favorite chicken recipe. It gave it the classic Paprika flavor with a hint of smokiness. Giving the dish a new twist on flavor. The family loves it and asked for me to use it in other recipes calling for Paprika.
We used this to mix in our pork rub and it was awesome! It's nice and fine, and flavorful!! We will most definitely be buying it again! The price was great, and worth the value! You get so much and it's so much flavor you don't have to add too much either!
McCormick Smoked Paprika has become one of my favorite spices to keep on hand. It adds a warm, smoky flavor without being overpowering, and a little goes a long way. I love using it on roasted potatoes, chicken, eggs, soups, and even in dips when I want a little extra depth. The flavor is rich and slightly sweet, with just enough smokiness to make simple dishes taste more interesting. It also gives food a beautiful color, which is a nice bonus. Overall, it's an easy pantry staple that makes everyday cooking taste a little more special.
