Melissa & Doug Wooden Multi-Craft Weaving Loom: Extra-Large Frame (22.75 x 16.5 inches)

Love the loom. However, directions were a bit obscure. So, I went to YouTube, found better explanations, and lots of other sites with wall hanging ideas (which I wanted to try originally). Good one is WithWendy. Very easy and simple. Once you get the hang of it, make a few mistakes, and your imagination is limitless. Having lots of funs -- so can you! Try it. It's very freeing. (See my first "experiment" pic.) Am considering making a larger one soon, and on YouTube you can get instructions on how to do that as well (simple). Enjoy!

This is a sturdy wooden loom. My child loves it. There are several ways you can set it up so you can make projects of various sizes. There is a photo of someone wearing a scarf and directions for how to make it. If your child makes a scarf, be aware that he/she will need to weave 2 scarves and then sew them together (end to end) as the loom is not nearly long enough to weave a scarf of a normal length. My 7-year-old child can do the project from beginning to end without assistance. I like that independence! (When we first got the loom (about 2 months ago), I had to start the weavings.) I considered taking away one star for the following, but it's not a huge flaw: Our shuttle has a crack in it. As a result, the yarn sometimes catches on the crack on the way through & gets snagged. I'm assuming it would be rare to receive a shuttle with a crack, but we did . . . so I thought I should mention it.

Superb craft set! This allowed my creative 8 year old niece and I to really bond and create something stunning and beautiful together. It was a little difficult to understand how to use at first and we really had to take our time with the directions to learn how to “loom” but with some patience, we really kicked it off and have designed some great pieces. I was really surprised to find this product in the market. It came completely assembled and all the hardware you need is included. The good part about this loam is that you can easily adjust it, and the waving itself couldn't be simpler. Love it its great therapy

I am using grocery bags that are made into yarn. After attaching the top and bottom, I tied it off, then created a new tie at the bottom on the Dow. I had to unwind my yarn, and I'm not quite sure how much I need for the weaving part.

I spent a little time reading reviews before I settled on this loom. It's a little unbalanced on its feet but not so much that it's a tremendous bother. I would have gladly purchased one for a few more bucks if it was made in USA, but I couldn't find one.

I got this from the company event. This set has a very nice package, it is great as a gift. When I open it and give it to my 3 years old son, we are very confused to how to play it. I spent 15 mins to figure it out and my son is still confused. I figured it is designed for the older kids who already know the full picture, the components and the way to put it together. Instructions are not nearly specific enough. I finally got it assembled and prepared to watch the video with my granddaughter - however - there is no video at the URL provided!! Now that it's assembled, I'll have to guess what ‘tie a section of yarn to yarn'!!
