I forget where someone said to buy this brand so I figured I would try them. Before these I had bought like 157,000 blades for $2.95 from a new website. I tried those and had my razor on it's lowest setting. I was bleeding everywhere and it really hurt to shave. So I got these new blades and didn't shave the day before. I put the setting on %231 the lowest setting. Nothing happened. It was like I forgot the put the blade in so I put the setting on %235 and still felt like nothing. Then I noticed it was shaving me CLEAN. Unbelievable!!!!! I don't even need a skeptical pen.....lol
Super sharp. These blades are made in Silngen, Germany, not CZ. As a result they come sharp and maintain their edge better than any other blade I've tried.
The picture shows blades in a plastic container that can hold used blades and are made in Germany. I received blades in cardboard box that are made in Czech Republic. The old bait and switch!
I returned these. The picture and written description states, "Made in Germany". They are not. What I received was made in the Czech Republic.
The 3rd party shipper lost my first order. The re-order showed up, however, the item pictured is NOT what I received. Merkur used to make the really nifty white hard plastic containers (what is pictured) where they doubled as a safe place to dispose of the used blades. What I received was the new packaging, which is just a small cardboard box and the blades in paper sleeves - see generic pic.
Ordered Jan 2023. These are inferior blades made in the Czech Republic and not in Germany. The picture for the item on the sellers page is misleading. I ran into this same issue on Amazon where the advertiser pictured the previous Merkur German blades in the higher quality plastic container, not these cheaper CZ made blades in a cardboard box as I pictured. I used these blades when I first got them from Amazon, not realizing that they were made differently. I immediately noticed a much poorer quality shave with left over stubble, way more skin nicks and overall greater razor irritation to the German blades. After several daily shaves with the same issues, I inspected the blades and packing and saw they were made in CZ and not Germany. I then came to Walmart to try to find the German made blades, saw this listing, and purchased only to be disappointed again by three packs of these inferior CZ made blades. The seller needs to be honest and update the picture, and everyone needs to be aware that these blades are garbage. Maybe Merkur as a cost cutting measure move their blades to be made only in the Czech Republic now, but know that these blades are honestly terrible and I may be looking for a new brand over all.
I received my order 11/12/21. The blades are packaged in a small carboard container and no longer come in the white plastic case with the blade disposal on the back. They are also made in Czech Republic not Germany. I have not tried them yet but I liked the old German made blades. If I end up liking these I will update my rating.
the blades i received were made in cz, not germany. they came in cardboard boxes, not plastic boxes, and are without storage for used blades. the wrap paper on each blade is heavily glued to the blade, making removal difficult and the adhesive stays stuck to the blade. the thickness of the adhesive residue is substantial and positioned to contact the blade supports of my razor, which in turn affects the blade curvature. after using three boxes of blades, i can say the sharpness of the blades is not as consistent as the german made blades. i was promised actual german made product, tried it the substitutes, and wont be using them again. in summary, i am most unhappy that merkur put their stamp in these imitations and if i receive more if this garbage they are going back
these blades are NOT made in germany as described, there is a difference. see many other reviews.
Hi, just opened the package and the item you advertised and what I received are not exactly the same. Had I known you were not going to send me what was actually advertised, I would not have ordered it.
