First you'll need WIFI and I use the Geeni app from Google play..Create an account and setup.is super easy, just create an account. Choose geeni from Wifi list and that's it. It has 4 outlets which is great..I have a light and a air purifier connected to it. and I'm able to turn off and on..Everyone needs a surge protector to save electronic or anything that you want to protect during a storm..Happy I have this and it looks nice too

This networked-device has so many uses. First, it seems to be very well-made, rock-solid, and worked perfectly with no glitches or other problems. The free Geeni app also offered a seamless experience. Intuitive, easy, no need for instructions, it's all clear and obvious. Basically, I loaded the app on my phone from the app store, plugged the device in, and entered my wifi name and password. It connected to the outlet immediately. I like how the app lets me control each of the four plugs, individually, via the app on my phone, or through a voice device (like Alexa or Google Assistant). I can set timers, schedules, or turn things on or off remotely. And I really like that the tiny blue lights by each outlet signal if the power is on or not. Note that the outlets do not work on their own (unless I turn them on in the app and leave them on). My husband and kids can access the same outlet on their phones, too, wherever they are. When I open the app, it shows if anything is already on or not, so it's helpful for turning things off/on when I've left the house. Plus, I don't have to get out of bed to turn off the lamp. On a trip, I turned the lights on like we would when we were at home, along with a radio, to look and sound like we were home. This is super convenient and easy to use.

This is my first smart outlet and I couldn't be happier. The app is so easy to use, I love that you can just tap the outlet you want to control. The indicator lights on the outlet are nice because you can see if it is on or off without going into the app. It is very convenient to be able to set things on a timer and I can see it reducing electric bills in the future. Highly recommend!

This is a really nice item. It is durable and well made. It is made to last. It is just the right size and it works great. It fits in most standard outlets. Great to have on hand. I live that is has the surge protector. Perfect for when the Power goes out without notice. There are no worries about your items Getting damaged

I love Merkury's smart products. And I paid for every one I own, so this is a real review. I picked up this wall tap a few weeks ago to use in my bedroom to control a lamp, TV, AC, and fan. Setup was fairly easy. No longer do I have to roll over and reach to turn my nightstand light on/off, or hunt down the remote that fell behind the headboard, etc. I just tell Google what I want (by talking to the home mini or using the Home app on my phone) and it gets done. My one complaint: the blue indicator lights. They glow very brightly at night. I tried electrical tape but the plastic is somewhat translucent. Currently considering wrapping the entire thing with electrical tape. I would think there is a setting to turn the lights off or make them red but I haven't found one.

The set-up literally took 3 minutes total-which included unboxing, reading the directions, downloading the app, logging in, and plugging the outlet in. Super easy! I am using it in my craft room to plug in a lamp and several thousand dollars in electronics. The surge protector gives me piece of mind while having double the outlet space. Being able to turn the items on and off from my smart phone on the other side of the room is super helpful! I do not have many outlets in my house and always struggle to find a multi plug that fits my needs. That is why I was happy to receive this Mercury smart WiFi outlet extender. It is pretty small but has four outlets with surge protection. It is great for the office with a computer, printer, scanner and various electronics. The coolest thing is that you can control all four outlets individually through the phone app that you need to download on tour phone. I already had the app because I have smart lightbulbs throughout the house. It is great that you can control everything with your phone. The setup is pretty easy. The app is really easy to use too. The outlets can be voice activated through certain voice assistants. Overall I think it is great help and a cool device to have in your house and I would definitely recommend it.

This wifi outlet is great for controlling individual items. I can plug in a lamp, TV etc. and turn each one on or off, individually, using the app. Each plug of the outlet can be controlled using the app. Or you can push the button on the front of the plug to turn all 4 on/off at the same time. It was very easy to set up. Using the app, it was set up in less than a minute.

I was able to connect this to my WiFi with no problem. I even had no problem connecting it to my Alexa. However for some reason only 2 out of the 4 outlets work when I ask Alexa to turn it on of off. I've tried several times to reset and reconnect and they won't work. I can however still turn it on and off from the app. And it turn my 2 plug outlet into a 4 plug outlet. So it's not a total bust.

the outlets work well enough, but the blue light in the center does NOT turn off... EVER! The unit is also plastic, so the whole things glows bright blue as well. First off, having the light on 24 hours per day is a waste of energy, but worse yet is that you can't use it in a bedroom unless you plan to wear a blindfold to go to sleep.
